| Queensryche - Operation: Mindcrime I dl'ed this off ittunes again since I lost the cd 5 or 6 years ago and wow... I still love that album. I really thought that it being from the end of the 80s hairband era that the music would have timed out but I gotta say that isn't true. I listened to the whole album straight through about twice and the same old feelings came back. It's sort of a rock opera if you've never heard it before. It has a story to it if you listen to the album straight through. It's standard rock from the late 80s/early 90s but the story and how well the music is coordinated absolutely make the album. As an album it is definitely my favorite of all time.

+5 Internets | Mindcrime is amazing, and it still stands up really well. I think they just lost their a hunger after that CD. They really lost any sort of fire or aggression in their music after that.

| After Operation: Mindcrime there was Empire and it was great and I also have a soft spot for Promised Land. I think PL was better than Empire but not as good as O:MC. When Tribe was released the moved away from Progressive rock and Chris DeGarmo, a founding member and driving force besides Geoff Tate, didn't like the direction and left, especially after the album "failed". This sucked most of the true Progressive sound out the band. Operation: Mindcrime II is just bad. It sounds almost like a different band. |
