| Do you even have an ear for music? I listened to that song you're talking about and it isn't even remotely similar.

+5 Internets | I listened to "Handlebars" and I wonder what the fuss is. I like interesting hip-hop but this sounds like the most vanilla hip-hop that there could be. It strikes me as completely average music, like RJD2 with no edge to it. If you're just amazed that someone can rap over holy shit real instruments then enjoy it, but this is not exactly new experimental musical terrain. |

| I can't think of a single band in the history of music that can be summed up by only one of their songs. In fact I'm fairly sure it's an impossibility, unless of course a band only ever produces one song.

| Hehe. Leo Laporte was talking about this song today in his show. I wasn't paying attention and I didn't know what he was talking about until he said Flobots at the end. THen when I click on the link it says "Handlebars" which is how the song starts... something about riding a bike without handlebars. |

Hell, have you ever listened to !!!? You could sum up their entire discography with one bar of that fucking back-and-forth-strings sound they use in the background of every song. And it's the rare band I couldn't sum up with two different songs.

| Registered User | Including this. To humor the guy saying you have to listen to more of their stuff to get the complete picture, I went ahead and listened to more. It's all terrible. Listen to some Clapton or if you want something current listen to The White Stripes/The Black Keys. That's talent. If rap is your thing Atmosphere's new album is *amazing*. These asshats sound dull and similar to Linkin Park, only not as good. Congrats on enjoying the Ace of Base of this decade. |

+5 Internets | I just listened to a few more of their top tracks on Last.FM out of curiosity. I didn't like them either, although I wouldn't say they're awful. To my ears, the rap is mediocre (although I don't tend to pay any attention to the actual content of the lyrics, so maybe they're busy saying something really deep) and the backing melodies are pretty simple and boring. "Handlebars" appears to have "summed them up" after all, as far as I'm concerned. Last edited by Fog : 06-16-2008 at 12:14 PM. |

Oh and just because our tastes differ doesn't mean any band sucks or is talentless but please lets keep turning this into a "Flame that band" thread. Last edited by Dontauro : 06-17-2008 at 04:14 PM.

| ive pretty much decided that anyone who gets hyped by any part of the music industry be it rolling stone or mtv i wont listen to. i still remember seeing a rolling stone cover with the white stripes being declared the best thing in rock. also the flobots still suck and no handlebars is about as well rhymed as something a 4th grade class would throw together. And one more thing the music video looks like ass. uninspired and thrown together garbage that makes me wonder when the colorblind and visually handicapped were able to get jobs in animation. |

| So I finally saw them live in Milwaukee last night at Summerfest, it was really great. I was surprised they were rather decent live, they did 2 covers of songs which were a good attempt at making them their own rather than just sounding like the original song (one was The Turtles Happy Together and Pat Benatar's Heartbreaker was the other one), and I heard a couple of things I had not heard before. If you don't like them, great. I find their music enjoyable, so do others. Don't listen if you don't like it. To those who might consider seeing them live because they enjoyed the album, I highly recommend it. To those who think they are this generations Ace of Base, well, don't subject yourself to it.
