Hurt

This band is incredible. Did a search and did not find anything on them. I dont really know a lot about them, but I do have their 2 CDs and they are incredible.

I think this was their first single (from Vol. I):

here is their second single (from Vol. II):

YouTube - Hurt - "Ten Ton Brick"

Anyways, the song that comes after Ten Ton Brick uses the same melody as TTB, but goes accoustic with some piano... Its unbelievable. The song is 'Aftermath'. These guys really amaze me.

If you dont know about them, you should check them out.

Other good songs of thiers:

Abuse of SID
Alone with the Sea
Talking to God
Et Al
Falls Apart
Danse Russe

Really, all their songs are good.

A lot of my friends really enjoy them although I can't seem to get into them. I know they were touring back in the fall and everyone I know that went enjoyed it. Tickets were like 10 bucks too, might wanna check it out.

I love Vol. 1 but I am having trouble finding good songs on Vol. 2 (jsut been downloading at random). Off of Vol. 1 I love Forever, Losing, Unkind, Shallow, Rapture, Falls Apart. The only good song I have heard thus far on Vol. 2 was ten ton brick, although I will follow your advice and check some of those out (although I have gotten Danse Russe and I really don't like it).

Vol 2 Good songs for me are:

Abuse of SID - (very awesome song, especially at 1:25 in the song... I love how it builds up like that. Its about a woman who stays in an abusive relationship)

Talking to God - (from what I read, lead singer's mom was very religeous, but was abusive to him, so in the song "How can you talk to God when you wont talk to me"... I guess you can kind of see)

Et Al - (its kind of how my ex-wife treated me, so I like/hate this song at the same time)

I like both albums and really cannot wait for a third.

Video and song are 99.9% early-mid Tool.

Saw these guys live. Check out their tour dates HURT - Live. Defiantly worth it.
I still like Vol 1 better than 2
The song House Carpenter wins

If Tool had Incubus's bastard love child, it would sound a lot like this band.

So as an update to this thread, I bought Vol. I and 2 off of Itunes, cause supporting bands you like is cool and shit yo. Haven't listened to them both fully, but I listened to Abuse of SID first and holy fuck that song is incredible.

Just thought this comment was kind of amusing,
but I am in the progress of checking this band out as well as the one Hateyou mentioned, Karnivool...will edit with pertinent information later perhaps.

edit: yeah, I love tool, but not diggin' the vocals from Hurt at all, no thanks.

Don't listen to Karnivool expecting Tool. They are similar but not carbon copies. Karnivool is fucking excellent however. Hurt pretty much blows though. I grabbed vol. 1 and didn't really like it at all. Not gona check out vol 2

Good stuff. I'd never heard of Hurt or Karnivool before this thread. Hurt is pretty good stuff but Karnivool is just amazing. I dont get the kind of exposure to different music that alot of you guys do, I love this forum.

Neither do I. Besides exposure from local stuff, 95% of my new music is found by streaming last.fm or my friend and I spending our spare time locating new bands.
