I was lucky enough to get in on the pre-sale from their site and got four pit tickets to the Camden show. Needless to say, I'm fucking ecstatic.

Who else was at the Pavillion last night?

---

God it was not worth it.

50 degrees + pouring down rain the entire time, and I was in the lawn so no cover.

Opening band was absolutely TERRIBLE. Think they were called "The Liars". They sounded like a high school level rock band playing the Cure songs.

Radiohead took an hour to set up AFTER the opening band.

I should've just stayed home. I'm sure I would've absolutely loved the show if it had been 30 degrees warmer, or we had had a seat close to the front, or maybe if it hadn't been raining, but I guess I'm getting too old to enjoy Radiohead while surrounded by a cloud of smoke and a crowd of drunk assholes (although one guy was funny, kept shouting FUCKING BITCHES IN THE LAWN, I"M FREEZING MY BALLS OFF AND YOU FUCKS WON'T MAKE ANY NOISE FOR RADIOHEAD) in freezing rain. Last outdoor concert for me!

Radiohead themselves were fucking amazing of course but it was just impossible for me to enjoy it.

Yeah, it was bad; I was walking up the steps to the lawn when they were playing Arpeggi and I was off to my car when they were finishing up Bodysnatchers. It didn't matter much: we were still stuck in the parking lot until well after the show had let out. Got to see Bangers and Mash and Myxomatosis though, which was more than enough for me.

I saw the full set list and thinking about it now, I'm just absolutely frustrated by the whole ordeal. If it had been called because of rain or tornado warnings, I could have gone home not really knowing what I'd missed, but having to duck out to my car early to avoid hypothermia and missing all of the older stuff in the encores (and seriously, listening to OK Computer on the way back, the way they were arranging old songs live blew the older albums away) is gonna irritate me at least all week.

Maybe their album is better than they were live? Maybe they were extremely cold and playing like shit?

They sounded like one of the bands that I'd go see at bad local metal gatherings in high school playing covers of cure songs.

Seriously, the chorus of one song was "DIE ... FLY ... THE DEVIL IS IN YOUR EYE"

Well I can guarantee their albums sound amazing. After reading all about that Virginia show, I imagine nobody would be in the mood for a band they've never heard a song from in those weather conditions.

But if you cozy yourself up in the warmth of your house and pop in Drum's Not Dead, I hope you'll be pleasantly surprised.

But then again, when Liars opened for Interpol, many Interpol fans spoke out about how "terrible" they were. But then again, that's just the plague of being an opening band. Since a high majority of the time, people going to a show have never heard of the opening band.

When I saw Liars open for Interpol, and I was a fan of both, it was an enjoyable show.

As for that song you mentioned... first off I don't think Liars do choruses... second... I'm really pumped because that sounds like a song off their first or second album
