+34 Internets | Flobots This song popped up on the local rock station just a few minutes ago when I went to go get dinner, and promptly rocked my fucking world. I guess these guys just got picked up for a couple CD record deal on a major label, so we'll be hearing more. At any rate, "Handlebars" is fucking amazing.

+6 Internets | A little shaky but there's definately a shitton of potential here. That soft plucky intro beat on Handlebars is damned intoxicating and the outro is sexy as hell. edit: OK I'm sold. These dudes are incredible. Listen to "Mayday". Last edited by ValkyrieIsAboutToDie : 04-11-2008 at 06:24 PM. |

| I also love this song. Heard it while drinking recently and it instantly became my ringtone so I'd remember to download it the next day. Needless to say I didn't need to be reminded because I couldn't get the song out of my head. |

+25 Internets | A local modern rock station started playing that song this week. It's pretty good, definitely going to check more out. Only caveat is that Handlebars sound a TON like Cake, IMO. Similar lyrical delivery, trumpets, simple song structure etc.... |

| These guys are awesome. I have seem them three times around the Denver area...amazing live. I highly recommend downloading the entire album "fight with tools". You wont be disappointed. Other good songs: Mayday, Stand Up, Fight with Tools, Rise...hell they are all good. |

| I pretty much wrote these guys off as a Cake rip-off the first time I heard Handlebars the other day. Thankfully, I accidentally gave them a second chance by not recognizing this thread until after I clicked play. This is my new standard by which I will judge all other forms of hip hop as hopelessly inadequate. A hip hop group that makes music (beats alone is not music, fuck you if you think it is) with actual musicians -- musicians that are core members and not just disposable session musicians? Holy Shit. Their drummer makes makes me swoon all by himself, and they have a fucking hot violinist too? Holy Shit. |
