| Various metal Here are some metal bands I've been checking out recently. Some will be pretty well known, others maybe a bit less. Black Dahlia Murder -- Nocturne ~The CD just released or will release soon, I'm not really sure. Anyways its really good. The Absence -- Riders of the Plauge ~Good if you like up-tempo black metal. Sounds European but I believe the band is American, I'm not 100% sure though. As I Lay Dying -- An Ocean Between Us ~Your standard metalcore blending. Though I find the vocals somewhat generic to the genre the album is well composed and the instruments sounds great. Between The Buried and Me -- Colors ~If you liked Alaska you'll like this (I didn't like Alaska.) A bit more tech-metal than Alaska was but it follows a similar format. Long songs that all kinda sound the same to me. Psyopus -- Our Puzzling Encounters ~Straight grindcore. If you like the genre you'll like this since its some of the best pure grindcore I've found. Suicide Silence -- The Cleansing ~Recently was introduced to them. Have a very good mixed vox deathmetal sound to them. If you like JFAC's Genesis you'll like these guys [they use significantly more high pitch than Genesis though]. Through The Eyes Of The Dead -- Malice ~Better than Bloodlust, imo. Better range of vocals from this singer. It sounds similar to Bloodlust in the guitars/beats/tempos but the singer is just better. If you like the really dirty sound of Bloodlust you'll still like this guy's sound though. From The Shallows -- Beyond the Unknown ~New band, this is just an EP. Has a very good thrash metal sound. Again if you liked JFAC's Doom EP you'll like this. |

| Nope, your not. The majority of American Metal sounds the game. That said, As I Lay Dying is one of the best bands I ever saw in concert. They played with Dragonforce last year and I can honestly say I enjoyed their show more then Dragonforce. |

| Right now, I'm listening to "The Requiem" by The Confession. I saw a flier listing them as being on tour with Iron Maiden, so I decided to give them a listen. I really don't know how to classify it. Edit : Okay, I'm finished, and it's not that good. Last edited by Dammerung; 09-26-2007 at 05:22 PM.. |

| I'm loving the new As I Lay Dying. They rock, I've seen them live twice! One concert was actually with Through The Eyes of The Dead and The Black Dahlia Murder, both listed above At that show the room was so hot that the bands were playing in that my friend actually went in to a seizure. A few other people had to be carried out also.Interesting tid-bit is that As I Lay Dying is Christian.

Their latest album is fantastic with not a dull song on it. |
