Keeper of the Seven Keys Pt. 1 is also highly regarded. Here is Twilight of the Gods from that. Can't have a power metal post without Blind Guardian. From Battalions of Fear: Lastly Scanner, another old German power metal band I loved, but they never got anywhere in the US. Their song Galactos:

+12 Internets | Fuck all Amorphis kicks so much ass. I've been woodshedding learning to play this album front to back, and this song in particular is just a fucking blast to play. Anyone happen to have any idea what poem this refers to? Quote:

+2 Internets | This particular song? 37th poem of Kalevala. There seems to be several English translations of the whole thing around, no idea if they are any good, but here's one: Kalevala : the Epic Poem of Finland — Complete - Project Gutenberg |

+11 Internets | I've ended up checking out a lot of stellar bands, and have acquired some great music due to this thread. I figure it's high time I attempt to contribute, and my apologies if this shit has already been posted, but here goes nothing: Darkane: Icon In Me: Devil-Driver (for you Coal Chamber fans): Ensiferum: Turisas: Last edited by DrRetarded; 06-10-2009 at 11:51 AM.. |

+4 Internets | I like DevilDriver a lot, although I wouldn't really compare them to Coal Chamber. I know Dez fronted both bands, but it's like apples and oranges to me. I would definitely recommend checking them out if you like the song DrRetarded linked. My contribution for today is some Fear Factory, although I'm posting the instrumental version. The opening riff was voted 19th in Total Guitar's list of "The Heaviest Riffs of all Time". |

Oh hell might as well post a couple, a bit different from the death/thrash/power metal we've had recently: Turmion Katilot (Industrial): Apocalyptica's Cover of Rammstein's Seemann, I love Nina Hagen's vocals on this song: Last edited by CyrusReij; 06-10-2009 at 06:47 PM..

On a different topic, anyone know when the new nevermore is coming out? Been waiting for it for a few years now. One of my favorite nevermore songs: And no nevermore post is complete without some Sanctuary.
