| Every Time I Die is fucking incredible. They don't get a lot of respect in the metal scene being more hardcore than metal, for playing Warped, too many cleans, all that shit. But Keith Buckley is a mad scientist genius. "When in Rome we shall do as the Romans... When in Hell we do shots at the bar." "This isn't at all unpleasant. I'm enchanted by the lavish ballet, And I'll whistle the tune all the way to the gallows that I heard at the cabaret." "If they come back they're drunk and they're lonely. We all get lonely. God forbid we indulge when at sea. Just the tempest, the temptress and me." "We don’t dance no no no. We got class. No we don’t have any fun at all. It’s the new style and we know it." "I've got a bone to pick with the morning sun and the first last call But I didn't put my hair in a pony tail for nothing, so if I'm going home alone I ain't going at all. And all of "Inrihab" is good. |

| who the fuck cares if they are a christian band? So is Zao or was when they produced some of their best music, and living sacrafice was a very top notch band. Fuck you and your small minded bullshit. If a band of jack offs can sing about goats, satan and various other occultic stuff why the hell does it matter if someone is mewling about christ? good metal is good metal period. |

+11 Internets | Anyways, most of the bands you originally listed are 'Core-ish; I'm more into Melodic Death/Technical Death, but I do occasionally go for some core shit. Check out: All That Remains Silent Civilian Threat Signal (Sort of Hybrid-Metal) Sonic Syndicate (Kind of poppy, melodic death-core..ish?) |

I care, i dont like vocals about finding Jesus etc over country twang or hip hop beats or metal scales and double bass. It matters if you listen to songs for themes, lyrics etc as opposed to for the general sound. Lyrics are a huge factor in my liking a band, its possible they are for others here too, actually itd be interesting how many people valued one over the other, and so the content matters. Alot of christ-core kids are like alot of straight edge kids. Theyre assholes. With that said if As I lay Dying and Underoath were singing about things i was interested in I still wouldnt be into em, im not really into that sorta music, metal-core loosely.

| Plugged In Like Neo | Alright - so I saw this show last night. Even though I was absolutely sicker than a dog, I dragged myself out since I already had the tickets. Underoath Everytime I Die Poison The Well Maylene and the Sons Of Disaster First off - Poison the Well put on a very lackluster show. They had very little energy, didn't sound great and the crowd just didn't get into them. I've seen them before and I seem to remember them being better. Having said that.... Maylene and the Sons of Disaster were decent. Like you said, they were VERY silly on stage - and the music wasn't half bad. Reminded me of a silly old Metallica + southern metal thing. Every Time I Die were incredible. Definitely the best of the lineup, and wow was the crowd brutal. Really REALLY enjoyed the show. Second time I've seen them, and damn they blew me away this time. Underoath did not disappoint either. They had a sit in drummer who flew out last minute so they didn't have to cancel the show. They had never even played with the guy - and he was phenomenal, maybe even better than their actual drummer. They played a good setlist, and it was a great show. Really enjoyed it. Looking forward to Norma Jean tomorrow night - and Glassjaw on the 29th. |

| Plugged In Like Neo | Saw Glassjaw last night at the House of Blues. Excellent, but brutal show. They didn't have any openers and played for a long time. Did a nice mix of songs off their two albums, and also played 3 from their new album that they're working on. Daryl is one hell of a crazy guy, but wow - what a voice. It's been a few years since I've caught a Glassjaw show, and I completely forgot how he can scream with the best of them and then hit ridiculously high notes in full voice without faltering. Looking forward to the new album now, as a couple of the new tracks were decent sounding. Was a little sad they didn't play Piano..but they played the following songs for sure: Ape Dos Mil Pretty Lush Siberian Kiss Motel of the White Locust When One Eight Becomes Two Zeros Pink Roses Gillette Cavalcade of Sports Two Tabs of Mescaline (You Think You're) John Fucking Lennon More too but I can't remember. Anyway, go see them if you can. |

+4 Internets | Dragonforce is so ridiculously overrated it's not even funny. They play stupidly fast (with no point to the solos I might add). I saw them open up Ozzfest in 06, and sat there laughing. The stuff I can't stop listening to lately are: Killswitch Engage Avenged Sevenfold Symphony X Dream Theater (although NOT the new disc.. it just doesn't grab me at all) Muse Slipknot (they rule the theatrical/horror show metal IMO) Fair to Midland (can't tell you why though)

+2 Internets | I like Dragonforce for their epic lyrics and high energy. I've been listening to YouTube - Kiuas - Warrior Soul recently. Not the best vocals, but I like it overall. Nerdy-epic-fantasy lyrics + some form of metal ftw. |

From a couple random listens Threat Signal sounds a lot like Fear Factory to me... just not as good. Zero Signal... Sonic Syndicate seems pretty decent. Going to look into them more! | |
