Fall Concerts

Seasons are-a changing. Same topic as "Summer Concerts".

I don't know if it would be summer or fall, but I saw Girl Talk last Friday in Tulsa and it was amazing. Everyone climbed up on stage before he even started playing, that was definitely a stand-out show that I'll remember.

Really excited about September. Got a huge week planned from the 23rd - 29th.

Animal Collective on the 23rd in my hometown (Oklahoma City)! Should be great, seeing my favorite band right down the street from where I live

Interpol & Liars in Dallas on the 27th.

Then the big one I'm excited about is The Arcade Fire & LCD Soundsystem in Kansas City on the 28th. Haven't seen Arcade Fire since 2005, INCREDIBLY excited to see "Neon Bible" songs.

Should be really great, seeing two really awesome shows two days in a row... in two states I don't live in!!

I LOVE FALL CONCERT SEASON!!!

Saw AC earlier this year. Despite not much in the way of actual instruments being played, I fucking loved it.

Shows I'm seeing this fall so far, and I'm even skipping out on a few due to not being bloody rich.
Interpol/Liars
Grizzly Bear (free show!)
Blonde Redhead/The National
Of Montreal/Grand Buffet/MGMT
Spoon/New Pornographers
Bloc Party/Deerhoof (still deciding on this)
Do Make Say Think
Okkervil River, Damien Jurado
The Octopus Project/Bring Back The Guns
Peter Bjorn & John
Man Man

There's a few this month, but my schedule's on my work computer. Peter Bjorn and John at the end of November and Emanuel in September I think are all I have planned at the moment. I think Arcade Fire and Wilco are still this month too. We'll get more bands it'll just take awhile for them to be announced. Fuckers.

Saw Queens of the Stone Age last night. Pretty sweet show overall, I even waded into the mosh pit for like the first time in a good 2-3 years. Ah yes, the joys of elbowing people in the back of the head and being covered in other people's sweat. I gotta remember ear plugs next time, most shows I end up with one or both ears fuzzy for a day or two after, not a good thing.

K-Os in a couple weeks, looking forward to that. I've heard he's mediocre live, I guess I'll see.

Chris Cornell end of September, also really looking forward to that. Dude can fucking sing.

Henry Rollins spoken word in October, that should be good.

Finger Eleven and Sum41 in September as well. Don't much like Sum41, but Finger Eleven's an awesome live show, so I guess I'll tolerate Sum41.

Otherwise kind of a slow fall for concerts.

Saw Incubus for the first time last week. Much better than I was expecting. My only disapointment was their song selection, but I was well prepared for it. I mean it would be nice for them to only play Fungus, Enjoy, and Science, but the reality is the vast majority of their current fans probably have never even listened to those albums.

tempted to hit up Arctic Monkeys/QotSA/Voxtrot trio here soon, but $32 ticket (before ticketmaster assrape) is a little more than I want to pay for those guys. Love how a lot of bands are pairing up this fall though. Wish I could've seen Grizzly Bear/Kevin Drew/Feist show sooo bad

I'm going to see Queens of the Stone Age in the ATL at the end of September. Haven't been this excited for a concert ever. I'm tempted to go see them again 2 days later in Asheville NC, but I think its sold out.

Meh, I saw QOTSA open for NIN a couple years back. They were pretty good, but nothing special. Just kinda stood there and played.

As for me def gonna be attending:

Animal Collective - Sept 26
!!! / The Field - Oct 6
Of Montreal - Halloweeeen (can't wait)

Possibily attending

Deerhunter
Sunset Rubdown
Stars
Tera Melos
Echo Festival (Flaming Lips, Album Leaf, Man Man)

I'd also like to see Liars, but im not that into the new album and not too into interpol so probably not.

I'm hoping Liars plays mainly old stuff, but I doubt that'll be the case. Though sometimes I'll go see a band and they'll barely play any new stuff. Wish I could see Sunset Rubdown or Deerhunter (though I can't imagine their act being as good if cox is forced to play guitar). Closest Stars and !!!/Field show is Austin for me

Dress up flamboyantly gay like kevin barnes for the halloween show. I truly envy you seeing a band like that on a day like that

Yeah, I'm really psyched about Of Montreal. It is in Athens too so it's sure to be off the wall.

I'm really hoping TMV get off their asses and do a fall tour. HEADLINING, none of this SOAD, RHCP bullshit. Also hoping Bedlam in the Goliath doesn't suck as much as Amputechture did.

I'm contemplating travelling to see Of Montreal. When I saw them play in Norman, the power overloaded, so instead they did an acoustic set. It was still badass, but I could only imagine how one of their usual performances is (plus what is Of Montreal REALLY without synths?)

And a big HELL YES to The Mars Volta. I've heard plenty of mixed feelings about their live show, but I personally love the hell out of them live more than anything. Headlining would be very important too, i've only seen them open for SOAD & APC.

I could've sworn they were already done with another album. Regardless, I still believe they need to do a double disc album ASAP. Because you know it would dominate.
