| Best Bands and/or Albums of 2006 Just post which band you enjoyed the most through out 2006. For me 2005 was this massive year for music where I felt like all the splintered subdivisions of rock were valid because of all the creative music coming out. Sadly, 2006 felt like the bubble burst and tons of bands just started to sound the same. Sunn 0))) completely opposed that by being so overwhelmingly heavy and letting me enjoy rock even when i was disappointed and sick of it. Sunn 0))) was the band I most enjoyed during 2006

| Tom Waits - Orphans: Brawlers, Bawlers & Bastards Its almost too much music to take in, but the album is epic and I cant really think of a song that I hate off of the top of my head. I can certainly think of quite a few that I like though. Fish in the Jailhouse Lucinda Road to Peace and thats just off of brawlers nevermind bawlers and bastards. |

+15 Internets | Hal: A lot of bands didn't become popular until 2006, I doubt you'd be able to mention one that released their first album ever this year that anyone would know of heh. The album that was most praised by a 'newly popular' band has got to be Arctic Monkeys. 2005 was great, 2006 was okay, 2007 is going to be great I think. Some of the best music I listened to this year is set to release next year (Of Montreal's new cd for example). The Best Album Of 2006 for me was "So This Is Goodbye" by Junior Boys. A lot of my other favorites were So Divided by Trail of Dead, and Broken Social Scene's self titled album (which I listen to over and over). I'm sure there's another half dozen I could mention, but those 3 come to mind immediatly.

+25 Internets | Still really digging 10,000 Days personally. K-Os' new album is really great, but I'm sure no one here's heard it, and he's not really a band anyway. Chemical City by Sam Roberts was also awesome, saw him a couple times and thoroughly enjoyed both shows. Beck was awesome at Sasquatch, and The Information is an awesome album. But really, no one band stands out for me personally. But then again, I don't really have my "ear to the ground" when it comes to music. |

| Tool fans, especially those who prefer them back in the days of Undertow, would be well advised to check out that Isis album I mentioned, as well as their Panopticon album from '04. Isis used to be really harsh/noisy Neurosis-style metal, but they made a drastic change a couple years back. |

| The Sword: Age of Winters. Honestly not sure if they just came out this year or if this is the first album by them I've ever heard, but it's a thoroughly enjoyable listen. Otherwise I'd have to toss my vote in for Tool's 10,000 Days. Pure own.

Dragonforce, in my opinion, is the best band I've heard this year. Can't stop listening to them.

| I really enjoyed Muse's Black Holes and Revalations disc this year, other than that individual disc, nothing really stands out. I mean there were some good singles, but that whole disc is excellent. |
