I saw Dragonforce in Toronto. Me and my friends dressed up like idiots (one dude was a paladin... another was a warrior of some kind.. i was a spider...) and brought weapons and shit to the show, my one buddy even made a (hardcore) war-hammer. We got cheers everywhere we went, people chanted war hammer for a while and we even got written up in some heay metal magazine.

It was pretty sweet!

The guitar work is pretty awesome, but I didn't know they still made this kind of metal. The singing is just too f'ing gay(read: 80's) for me.

What was true in 2006 still applies in 2007 and into 2008, imo.

Sidenote: I watched the video for Through the Fire and Flames since I knew that song from GH3. I'm a little disappointed. I think it would have been much better/epic if instead of a stage, they all played on a large mountain made of Cheetos with pillars made of Redbull cans. Maybe make the mountain a volcano and halfway through it erupts, showering them with Mountain Dew and copies of a D&D rulebook (paperback). I think it could make them big.

Who the fuck moshes to power metal?
All of the true metal fans were at the Dream Theater show out in Grand Prarie, of course all the kiddies were at the ozzfest show, it was free. I saw Dragonforce a couple years ago at ridglea (in Fort Worth) and it was a pretty good show. The keyboardist had one hilarious solo set.

Note the date on that post, Hathe. We were at the same gig at Ridglea - July 12, 2006.

Alright, insomnia is a bitch. I just confused dates and assumed the post date was this year and the date Ozzfest played around North Texas this year Dream Theater played in Grand Prairie. Two shows at the same time, Ozzfest was free. I was, however, at that Ridglea show in '06!

I remember... I had some friends that went to see Ozzfest and Dream Theater in one night, and Symphony X on the next - one even flew in from California to do so. I only went to Symphony X, though.

I did the same as well, Dream Theater (Redemption was awesome) and Symphony X the next day. Can't top that week for concerts!
