+12 Internets | V.A.S.T. any fans? Well, my Prince thread went to shit quickly, so I figured I'd try something more the style of this board. Any fans of VAST? Jon Crosby who is the sole writer and musician of 90% of the music, is a friend and he's recording a new album at the moment. Check em out if you have never heard of them. Many know the tunes but do not know the artist. www.realvast.com and after entering the site click the "experience" button on the right. You can then click on some of the albums and check out tunes/videos from each. Let me know what you think. |

| I've found a good portion of the people who post here veer away from the mainstream, which I find refreshing. That's probably why the prince thing didn't work out. Music from Vast seemed pretty good for the couple songs I checked out. but the latest videos were dated 2000 and it seems their newest CD is delayed "for legal reasons" and no touring dates are set. Is this band falling apart? The homepage was pretty good at least. |

+12 Internets | Actually they have released three cd's since the ones you see on the website. Jon had them taken down a few weeks back due to royalty battles with his publisher at the time. He's actually brought together a few musicians and is recording a new album as I type. The newer stuff is actually a little more obscure than what you can hear on the website although very good. |

| VAST is the win, I've been a fan since uh, 99? or so. Have pretty much everything that's been released thus far, and probably some stuff that hasn't been hah. Yay for intraweb~ That said, I actually own all the albums, but I like a little sneak peak now and then when I go searching for sounds.

| I spent a good amount of time looking at the videos and later the songs. "Pretty when you cry" reminded me of how much more enjoyable music videos use to be. Then I checked out "free" and it all clicked. I had seen this band I think through much music. I remember not really enjoying them then. I like the older stuff on sensory theater. Does the new material sound more like that, or what?

| I thought VAST was awesome and almost worshipped it. Converted my girlfriend and everything. Then I went to one of the concerts and found out J Crosby acts like a douche onstage. oh well. The music is still good. |

| Touched is an extremely powerful song, but not really familiar with his other stuff. That song came on in a rock club one time recently and I had completely forgotten about it. It sounds gay, but I got a little choked up hearing it that time. Combination of drinking, hearing it on a loud sound system and the timing of the song with events of the night itself. I had to lean on the bar for the duration of the song. Great moment. |
