| Anyone read "Wanna Whole Lotta Led"? Did anyone read this piece of shit book? It was the first Zeppelin book I've read (because they didn't have Hammer of the Gods) and it sucked. Half the book talk about The Yardbirds and the authors personal stories like being born again after hitting a guard rail and all the concerts he had been to in his life. Seriously, I read pages on stories on Bob Dylan, BoC, GD, etc... Totally irrelevant to the book. The pictures were good, but they had these stupid cliche captions. One was the band going into a movie and the caption said "let me take you to the movies"- wow didn't recognize that one that came out of "Houses of the Holy". The title of the whole thing was a cliche. I wanted to know who the hot girl was that was on Robert Plant and the other one looking at Jimmy Page.

+12 Internets | Do yourself a favor and pick up "Led Zepplin" by Cross/Flannigan/Preston. AMAZING book that is actually divided into 4 sub-books. Not a bio perse, but more of a history. First book is the band's story, 2nd is about each album. Each song is discussed by each member and the story is given of the lyrics, inspiration and etc..Third is about performing live and fourth is a complete listing of every show with the setlist and a 1-2 paragraph description of occurances at the show. The photo's are A++ also. |
