| Power metal? I just ordered a 5 gig MP3 player and am looking for about 2.9 more gigs of music to put on it, and I'm mainly looking for music similar to Sonata Arctica or Kamelot. Anyone have any suggestions?

| Ichu's list is pretty good, but I can add a few more: Lost Horizon King Diamond (I always classified as power metal, some don't) Sanctuary - The band that would become Nevermore. If you can find their two late 80's albums they are great Attacker Lethal Sacred Oath A good listing of thousands of power metal bands both active and defunct can be found at http://www.metal-archives.com/browseG.php?g=power Sentinel Steel records is also an east coast record label that specializes in power metal. Their mail order selection is pretty good. www.sentinelsteel.com |

| I don't really classify King Diamond as PM. Most PM bands have singers that belt it out, while the King.. Well, he does what he does. (I like KD, don't get me wrong). As mentioned, Kamelot kicks fucking ass, Dream Evil, especially the Dragonslayer album is absolutely badass, as is Hammerfall. Angra and Symphony X are also well worth checking out. Hell, that list ^^ up there is pretty damn solid. Edit: Firewind totally kills as well.
