| Old School Black Music I love pretty much every genre of music, but for some reason have completely neglected 60s Black R&B music until lately. Right now I'm obsessed with early Marvin Gaye, Sam Cooke, and James Brown. Just loving the Old School Black Music right now...just got so much feeling and energy to it. Any recommendations for some of your favorites I should buy/download?

+8 Internets | I don't think these really fit into "'60's R&B" but you can't go wrong with Sly and the Family Stone or Parliament/Funkadelic. I'd recommend just grabbing some greatest hits sort of thing. I particularly like the "Maggot Brain" album as far as Parliament goes, although that is me and it is not as funky as the later more popular stuff. |
