List some bands you really like but would be embarrassed to listen to in public.

Long:
Most of us seem to focus on one area of music. Some people here seem to know tons about industrial, metal or emo. I guess I lean towards the latter along with a good group of indie/pop bands. I believe that any true music fan listens around to many different genres though. Just cause you like one style most doesn't mean you can't enjoy a talented band that creates completely different music. This can cause some funny situations where you either have to hide or defend your tastes.

I'm starting a thread for people to share those embarrassing bands that they love.

My musical Shame is ABBA. My little brother hyped them up and I sort of ignored it for years. Then I downloaded a best of collection and added it to a playlist. Over the past year I've kept playing them regularly in the privacy of my headphones. It’s sort of weird to be walking home with an intense rhythmic determination while listening to a flamboyant disco band. I listen to a lot of classic rock and ABBA is up there in my eyes. Good stuff. Recently Madonna sampled Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!. Naturaly hers sucks balls compared to the original.

Hate to admit it but I like chick rock from time to time. Love Fionna Apple and Aimee Mann. Occasionaly listen to Tori Amos and Ani Difranco and bands like Eisley as well. What can I say I just like a pissed off chick to tell me the other side once and awhile...wow I'm such a pussy...
