+47 Internets | Recommend an obscure/semi-obscure band Recommend a band that most people haven't heard of or that no one you know listens to, and if possible provide a link to some musak. I'll kick things off with Hot Chip. Yeah they're British pop/soul/lo-fi/jazz or something, but despite that they battled through adversity to make a kick ass sound. Hot Chip - Comming on Strong - The Beach Party listen I wouldn't advise listening to most the other songs on this website as they are either old or shitty remixes...but the stuff from Comming on Strong, like Keep Fallin' and Beach Party, is genius. I need more new music |

+5 Internets | http://www.eisley.com/music.php Eisley - Female radiohead I love this band. http://www.eisley.com/videos.php?video=2 http://www.eisley.com/videos.php?video=12 - just awesome live. I need to go see them still. 3 hot sisters + brother + one friend. Mellow band. Heavily influenced by Radio Head. I've made a thread about them before. I just can't help but plug them though when someone asks of a unheard band.

+58 Internets | I don't know what most people is these days, but I'll just list some bands I've never heard on the radio or tv that I really dig. I don't know how obscure you're going for or even if you read the other semi related music thread, so here goes. check out my scrobbler sometime too. Minus The Bear Broken Social Scene TV On The Radio Maximo Park The Beta Band Built to Spill Stars Ted Leo and the Pharmacists. The Wrens The Walkmen m83 (in some car commercial nowadays) A.C. Newman Andrew Bird ...and you will know us by the trail of dead (though I noticed they were in a NBA playoff commercial) Doves Of Montreal. Plenty of more if I'm on the right track for stuff you're looking for. |

| Rather than do the metal thing as usual, here's one for all the people out there who think NIN still makes music worth listening to. ![]() Flesh Field. There's 2 EPs available on their site, of mostly remixes. Unfortunately they don't have anything available from Strain (their latest cd, and the single best Industrial cd I've ever heard) on their site. The EPs give an idea of what their sound is like, but Strain is much, much better. Start with the non-remixed stuff first imo. Anyone genuinely interested could probably PM me for some/all of Strain, provided you're not a tard whom I wouldn't waste my bandwidth on.

| Insound.com check that out. probably every band Ham n Cheese mentioned has downloads of songs on there. plus they have pages after pages after pages of bands/downloads. i guess it would be hit or miss to find bands you like, but that's the cool thing about it. my favorite find in there would probably be Death from Above 1979 or The Detatchment Kit. edit: the broadway hush page france 2 bands above are just local bands. but hell i think they're pretty good. page france has two cds out. i think the broadway hush is about to put out one soon i do believe. they're the same peeps except one change in the line up.

+47 Internets | I've heard pretty much all of the latest wave of Indie bands, including all of those Ham mentioned, and this wasn't just for me. I was hoping to get out some bands that are currently under the radar that some people might listen to and decide they like. Nice going so far. edit: Not to imply that Ham's picks aren't great nor that all of them are new. Last edited by Tea on tuesday; 10-15-2005 at 12:39 PM.. |

+1 Internets | One I have found that I like lately that most people have never heard of is called Sub Dub Micromachine. They have one full album out titled Rabautz! and a couple of other singles out as well. They are played on one of the internet radio stations I listen to at work and I would say they are definately some form of metal, which subgenre they would go in I don't know. Some samples can be found on their site linked above. Another would be HeavensDust, they are quite heavy in many songs but they have a softer side as well. They also use some traditional japanese instruments in their music which makes them different then the masses. They have three albums out now, Before I Die, Seven Sins, and Higher Than Heaven, Louder Than God. If anyone has a decent source for Higher Than Heaven, Louder Than God I would appretiate a link, I am only able to find some poorly ripped singles and the only online store that has the CD has been sold out for some time now. There are three songs to sampe on on their myspace site. |

| This woman named Feist is really good if you are in the mood for a mellow acoustic song. There is a song by a guy calling himself "Final Fantasy" (he plays violin for The Arcade Fire I think) its called "The CN tower Belongs to the Dead". The song is really good imho but it’s all I have from him. check it out: http://www.mp34u.com/songCard.php?po...2694&by=source

+47 Internets | I've been digging LCD Soundsystem for a couple months now, I like the "electronica" trend, seems a good change of pace from the typical indie I've been listening too for a while. I haven't listend to Mates of States in years though, I should check them out again. I'll check out Blonde Redhead. |
