Agris, send me another message on soulseek, I forgot to add your name to my list before I left for work this morning. Btw: you can just go ahead and download if I'm on, I was just asking that people message me so I don't end out the program if I'm not downloading something, which would end your transfer.

muuuuuse... fiiiiiiiive... dollaaaaaaaaaaars... What do you have against all those bands? I can understand hating some for being mainstream. Others for being a bit overrated (Spin etc.. love to hype up a decent band as the next beatles, and then people are disappointed when they aren't) . But, they all have talent.

Bog's British, and those bands are overplayed to fuck here (except GBV and the YYYs.) The fact I didn't have a tv or radio for about 6 months meant that I only heard them every now and then and didn't wish a terrible death on them all.

I just want to say, Yeta I take back everything bad I said about you in guild (though I don't make any promises it'll stop ). Bloc party is indeed the own, and exactly the type of thing I was looking for.

This might be a little too heavy for what you're after, but doesn't hurt to throw it out there. I've never heard of any of these bands except the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, which I like alot. And if the rest of these bands are simmilar music (hard to find a solid definition of rock these days) you won't like this band. The reason I'm gonna mention them is simply because you stated 'indie' bands, and I can't think of any band more indie than Toxic Narcotic. They are about the only D.I.Y. band, that has any fan base more than 5,000 people, that I know of. Been around since 1989. They play nationwide in the states and are one of the more popular Boston bands. They fund themselves with entirely their own cash, on their own label, and take "breaks" in between constant touring to make an album...to fund more touring. They suffer a pretty unimaginable vicious cycle of barely meeting ends, to throw their message out there. And they have some powerful messages. They have a set standard of morals and deveotion to their fans that is admirable to say the least. Playing shows to hundreds of fans 1 night, and to tens of fans the next. Because it doesn't matter, they'd play in your backyard if there was at least 1 fan attending. They don't play around with merchandising, which would be a *huge* boost and obviously unmeasurably beneficial to their lifestyle. For instance, their latest release, on the actual album art it says "Pay no more than $5.99 for this CD" and sure enough, even at the most popular, price jacking outlet near me, the shit was $5.99 Now about the music. Most people don't like them because it's fast and abrasive. Not produced to death and someone who isn't used to them or their type of music finds the lyrics undecipherable. First impressions of this band are never a good one. If you can give it a few listens, find the hooks and beats, you'll get into it. The best way to apprecate it is listen to a song once, then whether you hated or loved it, listen to it again reading the lyrics. What you probably thought was incoherent angst bable is well thought out, perfectly understandable, un-metephorically, straight forward lyrics with powerful messages that stay on topic with the song's title. Here's an .mp3 on their site if anyone is interested. It's far from their best song, but the only legtitimate hosted file I could find with no effort. Directly linked from their site: Only the Wrong Survive This site has the lyrics, missing some parts bust gives you an idea. Lyrics I hate to push music down peoples throats but this band deserves everything and anything they can get. Last edited by qxx : 03-25-2005 at 04:02 AM.

Anyone ever heard of Zutons or Razorlight? I came across some reviews of them, seems like people who like Bloc Party + most of the bands I listed like them. Wondering if I should bother looking for their stuff to download when I get home from work.

+4 Internets | Get suede. Little bit old, but highly superior. Suede. (Singles album great intro 4 u) You'd probably like Kasabian with that list you gave. If you liked libertines check out Baby shambles. Same lead singer guy type druggy's new band. I find most those bands quite mediocre now. Was ok to listen to at first but uhm.. just disapointing to see them be the only decent stuff around here.

Yea, and someone was telling me about some band... The Beatles? I think was the name.... I've heard of Smashing Pumpkins Maybe they weren't as big in the UK, but they were all over the radio for quite some time here.I wouldn't doubt quite a few of the bands I listed get tiresome after awhile, that's actually why I'm always looking for new stuff. I like it alot, play it alot, and then I need a new fix. But, that goes for anything I listen to. I still like Death Cab for Cutie, but I much prefer listening to say.. Bloc Party or Arcade Fire now, because I've got most of their (death cab's) albums memorized. p.s. Yea, I need to check out Kasabian, they get mentioned alot with the bands I've listed.

I hate some of them because they're shit. The killers, the libertines, and franz ferdinand are classic manufactured brit-indie-pop. That cunt pete doherty thinks he's something special when he's just a tosser with an acoustic. Seriously, get into queens of the stone age. They're a band with more talent in their dicks than franz FUCKING ferdinand. Michael you're dancing like a beautiful dance whore? Fuck off. To think, we used to spawn good bands.
