| Jake Fairley Pokeing around the net in search for new music to sink my teeth into, came across a guy named Jake Fairley. Techno produer from Toronto, and dont let the term 'techno' turn you off. Its not the 'boom boom boom' type techno, its pretty gritty/dirty, and has been dubbed as 'tech-rock'. Definatly more of a rock and roll feel to it, without the kitch-'just a fad' feeling like electroclash *cough*peachs*cough* He has a new CD comming out called - Touch Not The Cat (Sept 7th, definatly going to be buying this one). 2 songs from his new CD and Paper Bag Records home page has two other songs of his on there that you can listen to. On his touch not the cat page, the 1st song is a bit more rockish, and the 2nd song you can hear the techno side a bit more. Heard a few of his tracks played at a party I was at last weekend, and damn they sound good on a nice system, definatly worth checking out IMO. |

| I've been digging around trying to find some more stuff on Soulseek but not having much luck, found a few descent tracks - boozing and loozing EP and he has a track called Motor on quite a few comps, but they are defiantly more on the techno side of things (still good, but not quite as chunky as the touch not the cat tracks) when the CD is released, I'll snag it and host it for abit |
