The Dillinger Escape Plan -- Miss Machine

Anyone else listen to this yet? I've been really getting into it the past couple weeks, so much that I'm actually going to go out and buy it. One of the best albums yet this year IMO. It is getting even hard to classify what their 'type' of music is.

Thoughts?

I guess it's ok, and all bands evolve but I just liked their music a lot more when it was fast paced like Under the running board and Calculating Infinity. Now it seems they've slowed down the guitar/drums and made the vocals a lot less hectic and more sludge-ish.

Miss Machine depicts a Dillinger that's matured if not mellowed, one that values musicality as much as mathematical precision.
A quote from a review I read. That is exactly why I like this album so much. It still has the craziness of old, but also now has lots of value as actual music too. It's a perfect example of how change can be a very good thing.

Does this mean that the music is less of a combination of a gut brain level stuff as it was?

Just got it recently, not had a chance to listen it properly yet but it seems good so far. The dvd that came with it was pretty good too, the guitarist swinging around so violently that he rips the guitar neck off halfway through a song is pretty amusing.

This cd is a master peice! Everytime I listen to it I want to tear my heart out of my chest and stomp on it! Very good!

To me being more melodic at points only shows their mastering and control of their own art. I love the flow of the cd and how you dont know what to expect from song to song.

Best cd I have heard in a long time! Go buy it now!!!!!
