Wondering if any one on the board has ever gone to a dead show and their experience. From what I gather its the mecca for acid trips.

i went to Further Fest (post Jerry Grateful Dead show, dif band name but still same band) and its basically one giant geltab.

dead heads suck ass to fuckin hippy bitches.

I've went to a few, was on shrooms not acid. Just the sounds they make are really trippy, fun show. Also if you live around the ILL area you should look at schawg fest. They play all dead music and shit.

The Dead was indeed the mecca for acid trips...or any kind of drug induced experience for that matter. I was never a fan of the dead, nor have I actually gone into any of their shows....but ive been to plenty of them.

I got to see the dead 63 times between 88 and 93. Still some of the most fun days of life until it got out of control with people just going for the party and not for the music per se.

In 92 I got to see Phish for the first time and was really turned on to that more than I ever was for the Dead. Now that is coming to an end, it is truly the end of an era for me.

moe.'s shows are fucking good too. I like Phish's music better but moe. is still really good. More of a southern rock twinge to theirs.

Hmm, I thought the Dead were alright, not too sucky but they were before my time really. I could have gone to a few shows in highschool (before Jerry died) but back then I was too busy smoking pot and not giving a shit. But I did date this retardedly hot brunette back then who was all about the Grateful Dead and eating acid. I mention this only because she was retardedly hot, otherwise I probably would never have heard anything by them.

However, I do like moe. I'm no master of "jam bands" or anything so maybe I just don't get it, but to me, moe is 1000 times better than phish. Maybe you need drugs to appreciate phish, in whch case, I'm no longer qualified.

But no I never went to a Dead show. So I'm left wondering why I even posted here.
