All I've heard so far is bits and pieces of the moon and antarctica and I thought they sounded excellent, though nothing like how they'd been described.

Though I will admit that this CD is the first Modest Mouse cd I've ever heard. (Pretty obvious since I got the title wrong up there). The metal and hardcore scenes are starting to bore me, so I'm branching out.

But I have to agree that their indie stuff is better than what I have heard of the album so far.

Its too produced (go figure) which just doesnt fit.

I just picked up the new cd last week. Pretty cool, but it didn't blow me away or anything. Still MUCH better than most stuff on there. They remind me of the Talking Heads a bit.

I have both Moon and Antarctica and News, and both kick much ass. M&A is much closer to "Modest Mouse" then News is, because of production, as mentioned. Still, some production isn't a bad thing (World At Large)
