Interesting David Bowie Contest

In the vein of the "Grey Album" and such, it seems David Bowie's website is running a contest on who can mix together two of his songs. The winner gets a free new Audi.

It's a bit restricted, but using other artists songs would just scream copywrite issues. What I think is cool about this, is how lots of artists can be anal about their music, not wanting people to screw with it or use it in various ways. Bowie is actually encourging people to mess with his music. And he provides free downloads of software to do it with, and free sample's of his music.

I wish more artists were this open. The contest winners should be interesting.

Bowie kicks ass. He's gotta be pushing 50+ by now and he is still willing to try some experimental shit. Pretty amazing that he continues to be so open minded and relevant at this point.
