Hey.. i heard a rumor that they are planning to release it at identicle times around the world... the set release time for Eastern timezone of the US is 9am... ya a shitty release time for sure. Anyways.. can someone confirm/deny this? The person who told me this said they went to a ticket release site? or something? la |

| Interesting. I'd imagine that djbighead is right. The local movie theater wants their money. If you set the release date as x/xx/xx than they will release it at midnight if they see enough dollar signs. Unless there is rule/contract/or law that could prevent them from doing this (which I doubt), then I'd say the rumor you heard is just that, a rumor.

| ... ya.. if you goto their official website, enterthematrix.com, under "zero hour" it tells about it. Pretty retarded imo. Personally i would think that would hurt rather then help. I know a lot of people with class/work that early in the morning (9am east, 6 am pac) and wont be able to go till later. Pretty much the only thing i am now is pissed. Pissed that WB is pulling this publicity stunt ![]() |

This works out great for me, I can never go to midnight shows because I work at night (and still I've managed to survive seeing movies 12 or so hours late... really, you'll be ok) but 9am is perfect for me. :P

| So someone clarify. Can the film makers set a time of day a flick is released or just a date? Because I think it's a safe bet they didn't sign a contract with every single movie theater.

I think you're underestimating the complexity of buying a movie to show at a theatre.

I'm just amused at the fact that you would get pissed at there being a 9am show instead of a midnight one because it doesn't cater to your schedule. Midnight shows don't cater to a lot of people's schedules either but they generally seem to get by anyway. The bottom line is, good idea or bad idea, this isn't going to hurt (or help) them at all. I'll be going to see it at 9am or whenever I make it to the theater, and so will you and everyone else who has any interest in the movie, whether or not they're "pissed" about when it opened.

| ~ I see all teh movies 1 day ahead of time anyway. When they fuck up release times or make "Advanced Screening" days I just get to see them that much earlier ^_^ I saw Matrix: Reloaded 2 days before wide release. I saw School of Rock 8 days before wide release, 3 days before the first advanced screening which sold out. So if they try to be clever bastards with the release time then I win! ^_^
