Good DVD's

I got about 60 DVD's and I am looking for suggestions for some good old, or new ones that I should pick up. Im pretty much a fan of every movie genre, but I hate subtitles, anything good out there that I should pick up?

The above recommendations are good, for the most part. However they're also rather common. (yay for pumpkinhead btw, scared the absolute CRAP outta me when I was little)

I'd recommend the following, though you may want to rent them first.

Human Traffic
Grave of the Fireflies
Bulworth
A Clockwork Orange
Bully (film by Larry Clark, director of kids, another incredible film)
Bowling for Columbine (one sided, but powerful)
Dark City
Kalifornia
Natural Born Killers (ONLY the directors cut, much better than original)

Edit : Also try to track down "Pumpkin" with Christina Ricci. It's ... difficult to watch but it's an excellent film.

the complete James Bond collection. I am quite pleased that I bought the whole set, and I would recommend them to anyone who has the money and the inclination to buy a bunch of dvds.

They should come out with a John Carpenter box set of everything he did before like 1990: The Thing, Escape From New York, Halloween, Big Trouble in Little China, etc. It's just too bad his more recent stuff sucks so bad. I loved his movies as a kid.

WooHoo

Yes Pumpkin! That movie was all sorts of funny (in it's own dark depressing, yet reaffirming way)

So just to say, I love your list Eager. I haven't see a couple of them yet, but I'll try to check them out.

As far as "Bowling For columbine" goes. Yes it was one sided, I mean come on it had to serve a purpose, it had to have a message. If it tried to tell both sides (or even more for that matter, because everyones opinion is a grey area), it would have ended up with no message whatsoever.

Anyway here's my recommendations:

Momento
Jackie Brown
The Rules of Attraction (Yes I love Bret Easton Ellis)
The Crow
Gattaca
Training Day
True Romance (Tarantino's first "finished" script)
Frailty
Waking Life (This movie is all about intelligent thoughts)

I've watched True Romance a few times, and I still don't know why I like it.

P.s. pay most attention to Pumpkin, Bully and Human Traffic. Pretty groovy stuff.

That scene with Clarence's dad and Walken was the best... when Clarence's dad was explaining that all sicilians are "nigger-spawn"
