Chicago

I just saw this pos movie, and am begging you to not spend your money. I don't want anyone else to suffer as I have. I don't know how the fuck anyone in the history of the arts thought that cutesy song and dance numbers were a good medium for a story, but there you have it - modern broadway. I can only assume that there are actually people who enjoy this shit, people who think 9 bucks is too cheap for a show, and would rather pay 5 times that so they can sit in a balcony while twiddling their monocle at the overzealous affectations and many crappy choreographed antics ensuing live onstage.

And what really pissed me off was that Queen Latifah's number had some IMO heavy lesbian undertones, and being a movie staged in a women's prison and all, I thought this would eventually pay off with some hot girl-on-girl sexxor. Well, nothing came of it, it was all cock-teasing.

I have a question for you Awanka, did you really not know this was a musical before you saw it? I actually greatly enjoyed Moulin Rouge once I saw it, and I plan on seeing this. But I remember when Evita came out and all these teenage girls went to see it because it had Madonna in it and stormed out. "Whats with all the singing crap!!" just too funny. I never saw it as it looked like much crappage, but you would think people would at least read a little something about a movie before seeing it.

I thought it was great. Great music, great storyline, great actors, and overall really well done. I saw it twice and have been listening to the soundtrack and singing it in my head for the past 10 days. I highly recommend it if you're into musicals at all.

To be honest, no, I wasn't expecting a musical. My friend and I wanted to see a movie, and he recommended this one because it had won golden globe nominations up the ass. Shit, I thought, it must have something on the ball. It doesn't matter what sort of pre-conceived notions I had though when I entered the theatre - They don't affect my judgement. Sometimes I think I'm going to see an awful movie, and am pleasantly surprised, like in Scorpion King or Imposter. Other times, I think I'm going to see a good movie, and it ends up being horrible, like Monster's Ball or Titanic. My expectations are of no consequence, shit is shit gentlemen, no matter how much you might color it or spend 200 million dollars making it look like a giant boat, and Chicago is shit, make no mistake... a big steaming mound of it. Bad acting, bad music, bad story, OMFG.
