Boondock Saints

Has anyone else seen this movie? Even though its a lower-budget movie, I still think its one of the best movies created.

There was a thread about this not too long ago. Decent movie: some parts were enjoyable, some were plain silly, but it doesn't ever come close to the genius of Ritchie or Tarrentino that it was trying so hard to imitate.

I thought The Boondock Saints was an awesome movie, and pretty damn funny too.

Is it dead??

Tarentino, yes. Ritchie? I doubt it. Ritchie's first publicly released film, Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrels came out in 1998. As far as I know, Boondock Saints saw a limited release in 1997, then a video re-release in 1999. For some reason it's incorrectly billed as a '99 film on IMDB. But for all intents and purposes, it would be impossible for a film made prior to Guy Ritchie's work to be 'imitating' him.

Great movie. Lock stock owned as well. Boondock 2 is due out soon for those that didn't know.

I looked it up; Millie, you're right about the dates. I was thinking more of that whole genre of movies rather than specific names though. Can't really get away from Tarrentino -- he was the one who started it all.

On a sidenote, did anyone actually watch Swept Away? That looked like such a trainweck... Madonna should stop trying so hard to spoil Ritchie's career.
