Anyone else have dumbass commercials before their movie?

Ok so I went out to see quite a few movies these past few weeks and the commercials just keep getting longer and longer, now you have to wait just to watch the previews and all of this is before the movie. Heck lord of the rings had 20 minutes of commercials/previews here and thats not lying.

I think I got it down as to what they show though.

1. Coke clip
2. Bod 1
3. Another Bod commercial
4. Some ladies type bod cartoon commercial
5. Some really dumb car commercial with elvis
6. PS2 commercial

Anyone else have the exact same lineup?

The coke one isnt too bad but everything else is soooo freaking old and lame. I mean they are showing the same ones you watch on TV, at least create some theatre only stuff or something. I understand they are prolly making lots of money off this but I really wonder if the president of Bod has seen his own stuff, go watch one of those Ax commercials and learn from them or something.

Aye..

The movies really disgust me with all this..

Our movies are $7.25 to get in. Then EVERY FOOD ITEM of course, as you all know, is grossly over priced.. $4.50 for a coke that costs 75 cents at the gas station. 3 dollars for a bag of 50 cent candy.. What the fuck. That is so stupid.

And after over-paying for every food item, etc, you are forced to sit through half an hour of comericals for products and other movies..

When I order my food, I only ever get a drink cause i hate to waste money, but i order it as "May i get a medium overpriced dr. pepper please?".

Commercials before the trailers have become commonplace in most multiplexes these days. They really don't bother me. It's no worse then watching the pre movie slide show the 4th time through waiting for the film to roll. The AMC I go to for just about all my movies starts them at a point that the trailers begin at the scheduled showtime so its not making the trip to the theater any longer.

I think we got the following at TTT at the AMC...

1) Nintendo Game Cube ad
2) Nikon digital camera ad with Val Kilmer
3) Some stupid cell phone ad
4) An Army of One!
5) This lame automaker ad with a car racing through the streets of Prague
6) Stupid Coke young filmakers award short
7) Movietickets.com

I thought the 350 Z commercial before TTT at AMC was awsome, I was disappointed when Regal didn't play it when I went to watch TTT again on the IMAX screen

If they were good commercials, I'd have no issues. They had this Power Aid commercial for a while that was fun to watch, though I haven't seen it in a long time.

We had a few commercials:

The Car one (w/Elvis and Unicorns, ect)
Stupid giggle/snuggle CACA Diet Coke ad
Moviephone.com ad
Warcraft 3 (which was kinda cool)

We also had a good 6 or 7 trailers. Only a few were worth anything: T3 was the only one that comes to mind.

dont mind a few commercials at the bargain matinee. if i pay full price to get in though, i want trailers only.

they do debut some great commercials in the theater though, the Mr. Blue Sky volkswagon beetle convertible commercial was very cool.

You are welcomed btw to dig out a topic dealing with the exact same thing from 2 or 3 months ago that has pretty insightfull information on why there are commercials before movies.

They are getting much more common and many more at a time. Not to mention I'm seeing almost double the previews I use too, not that I don't mind it.

Angry

Multiplex tickets in Times Square New York (the only place in the area to see movies like TTT) are $11.50 a piece.

$11.50 to see a film is crimminal. Hell I won't even pay the $8.50 that theaters around me cost. Thank you 10 year old college student Id with no dates on it and a $6.50 student admission price.

lol good one Synd. I've been going in as a student to indi movies 5 years out of University. Heck we wouldnt have to lie if they didnt try to rape us for movie tickets. They dont even include KY with the admision price.

I thought the I-run commercial was pretty l33t. That amateur film-maker's coke skit was super-lame IMO, and get's more irritating with every viewing. I don't mind the commercials as long as they put some effort into the things. I really liked that one powerthirst or whatever commercial they used to play with all the extreme sports stuff.

Haha, that Nikon camera commercial sucked. Me and my buddy were joking that half the audience probably don't even remember what Val Kilmer did.

Dude you guys have no idea how bad it was at the San Francisco fan faire all of us went to see jackass the movie before the dinner. It was Dantrin, Me, Ooga, Sean, Calandra, Rynoa, Faerin, Tagad and I think a couple of others and I shit you not there was literally 20 mins of adds and 20 mins of trailers before the fuckin movie started. It was SOOOO gay, we all paid 9.50 a pop for the fuckin tickets and had to go through seriously 40 mins of adds and trailers. Luckily the movie was funny as hell and seeing jackass the movie with all those guys was even funnier... ill never forget it lol.
