| The Two Towers; mishaps you noticed (possible spoilers) NOT differences from the book and the movie (yes I have read the books [long before the movies were started]). Stuff in the movie that made no sense A couple mishaps I remember are: During Helm's Deep Aragorn says "LADDERS!" in elvish and Gimli replies "Good!" Since when did Gimli speak elvish? During the beginning when the trio are on the hunt it is depicted that Aragorn and Legolas run faster than Gimli, yet they never really gain any ground, the distance between them stays the same. Was it just me or when Merry is about to be trampled by the horse his hands are untied. When Aragorn is looking at the ground and the sort of flashbacks, and Merry's binds are cut after the near trampling? brainfart I forgot the others I remembered! Post stuff you noticed, I'll remember the others. |

| Revealing mistakes: After the orcs take down the main gate at Helms Deep, one of the men can be seen pulling back the string on his bow a few times without ever nocking or loosing any arrows. Continuity: Several shots after Legolas, Gimli, and Aragorn encounter Eomer and his men have been reversed (leaf-brooches are upside down, and Legolas' chest straps and quiver are on the wrong side). Continuity: When King Theoden is having his armor strapped on, his aide fastens the left shoulder strap, then we see the leg greaves being strapped on, and gloves being tied. In the next shot, the aide goes to fasten the left shoulder strap again, and there are no greaves on his legs or gloves on his hands. Continuity: At times the character Gimli is as tall as Aragorn's shoulders. At other times, he is much shorter. Continuity: The length of the chain in which Frodo carries the ring changes throughout the film Continuity: When Gandalf the White first enters Theoden's hall, the position of his staff changes from being held perpendicular to the ground to being held parallel between shots. Continuity: Aragorn's sword disappears from his hand shortly before he falls off his horse, but reappears in its scabbard later. Continuity: When Saruman shows Grima his Army they walk to one of Orthanc's balconies. The two change positions between shots. Continuity: When Legolas is escorting Gandalf into the kings hall, Gandalf is holding on to Legolas' arm in some shots and his arm is down at his side in others. Continuity: At the very beginning of the film Frodo and Sam have very clean faces. In the next shot from a slightly different angle their faces are smudged and dirty. Revealing mistakes: On the wide angle shot of the destruction of Isengard, two blonde hobbits can be seen sitting on Treebeard when there should only be one (Merry is blonde, Pippin is not). Continuity: When Treebeard is talking to Merry and Pippin at the Entmoot, the stars that can be seen behind him change. Continuity: Gimlis hat falls of, but then reappears between shots, though he never stopped and picked it up. Continuity: The gash on Merry's face changes sides throughout the movie. Sometimes it is on his left brow, sometimes on the right. Audio/visual unsynchronised: When Saruman is talking to the Uruk-Hai, they are obviously screaming and yelling, but there is no noise coming from them. Audio/visual unsynchronised: In the scene where we see Saruman unleash the wargs, when he gives the order, the guardian is clearly moving his mouth to answer him, but no voice can be heard. Revealing mistakes: One of the Riders of Rohan near the center of the screen can be seen to be wearing sunglasses. Continuity: Gandalf's horse "Shadowfax" is obviously played by at least two different horses in the movie, as different markings can be seen on the horses. Continuity: Gandalf is supposedly riding his horse, Shadowfax, without either saddle or bridle; however, at various times throughout the film, it's possible to see not only a saddle and stirrups, but also a white rope around the horse's neck. Continuity: Aragorn's beard repeatedly changes length between shots in King Theoden's hall. Continuity: When Gandalf, Aragorn, Legolas, and Gimli are entering Theoden's throne room for the first time, Gandalf switches repeatedly between just carrying his staff and using it to walk with. Continuity: Merry and Pippin switch position between shots when Merry is making his speech to Treebeard at the Entmoot. Continuity: When Frodo yells at Sam for calling Gollum names, Sam's leaf brooch disappears, then reappears. Continuity: When Frodo, Sam, and Gollum are in the Dead Marsh and the Nazgul flies over, Frodo goes after the ring with his left hand, which Sam grabs and holds. Frodo is then shown putting his right hand to his chest, but in the wide shot, his right hand is still lying at his side. Continuity: The princess moves between shots when she is talking with Wormtongue. Crew or equipment visible: The monofilament used to make the elephant creatures' heads sway from side to side is visible. Continuity: Frodo's leaf pin switches directions from left to right, and right to left throughout the film. Continuity: When Grima Wormtongue is talking with Eowyn, he puts his hand on her face, but when she says, "Your words are poison," we see that they are several feet apart. Continuity: In the storeroom where Sam is suggesting that Frodo use the Ring to escape, Frodo is initially sitting in front of a barrel. When Faramir arrives, Frodo and Sam are sitting on a cloak and there are no barrels in sight. Continuity: When Gimli enters Helm's Deep for the first time, he speaks to Eowyn about Aragorn's fate. Before she speaks, Gimli's helmet is on and his axe is covered in blood. After she speaks, his helmet is off and his axe is clean. Continuity: In the battle at Helms Deep, when Aragorn unsheathes his sword, the shot is reversed (he draws it left-handed when he is right-handed). Crew or equipment visible: A small gas pipe, leading to one of the large torches outside the Golden Hall, is briefly visible in some scenes in Edoras. Revealing mistakes: When Shadowfax first appears you can see the tire marks of a car/trailer that has been driven across the paddock behind and to the right of him. Revealing mistakes: Just before Aragorn talks to Haleth, when Haleth is still standing at the lathe, the soldier that's behind the lathe looks at his wrist and shakes his head. There's no explanation for what he could be looking at, so it can only be assumed that one of the extras was checking his watch and worrying about getting home on time. Continuity: When the Uruk-Hai capture the Helms Deep, one Uruk-Hai on the walls can be seen raising a flag twice. Continuity: When Sam and Frodo get out from under the cloak (when it looks like a rock), Frodo pulls Sam out, but the next shot shows Sam still in the hole. |

| During the battle of helm's deep, when they are screaming to retreat and get back inside the doors (the final retreat inwards), two of the archer extras at the very bottom of the screen, looking over the ramparts, appearantly dont know that the shot is live. They're just looking at each other and chatting, and the one on the left is playing with his bow, pretending to aim it at himself because he doesn't know how it works. Then, they notice that they are supposed to be moving or something and casually walk in with the rest of the archers. |

| Most of that is bull shit anyway, Aragorn shouts LADDERS in English ( common tounge for all the nerds ), and in the shot where Mary and Pippin are trying to convince the Ents to help, Mary is standing up the whole time while Pippin is just sitting there. Also all that Sun Glasses and not knowing their on film stuff is pure bull shit.

| Sorry, I have to disagree. Aaragon definitly shouts Ladders in elvish. I noticed this the very first time I saw the movie. Watch it again, or download part 3 of the movie from Kazaa. The words ladders is Shown on the screen. I actually posted this "error" in the Two Towers thread a few weeks ago. My suggestion was that having hung out with an Elf for so long now (this would have been a VERY VERY VERY long time after they left Rivendale, right?) he would have picked up a bit of elvish.

| I agree with the above poster. Additionally, the word "ladders' whether in english, common or elvish, would realistically be repeated many times over before the battle began. This would be to prepare the ranks for what may come and strategy on how to deal with the ladders and other elements of the battle. Thus, any number of characters, including Gimli, would most likely have heard this word several times and would have associated the elven word with its common or english equivalent. |

| Ok maybe he shouts it in Elvish, but still, most of those points seem made up, I mean how is it that when Saruman and his pal go to see the Urak Hai army they are inverted? Doesn't Saruman walk ahead of the other guy then stops at the ledge then the other guy stops beside him?

| Oh I agree most of the points that he copied and pasted were bullshit. A lot of people like to try to point out bullshit so that they look smart or whatever. I was just saying the thing about him shouting Ladders in Evlish did happen.

| ok this guy just got a hold of an unfinished copy from Kazaa, most of this shit is just pure assleakage. like when saruman and his bitch are walking around, grow a brain thats probly just camera angle switching and you bein dumb also with the wee ones cut on his eye, one scene its horibly bleeding on his right, two second later its not bleeding, then in the next angle change its on his left and come on whining about dirty hobbit faces, or the color of the hair? maybe a dirty breeze came by? maybe the sun hit at the right angle to make it look blonde? and i remember in the book that when the chick yells at the fool about your words are poison she throws down his arm and walks away And come on, arguing about the arm posistion from a far away shot when time has passed in between shots, get a fucking life and way to suck by copy pasting |

| You have to love blatant plagiarism. Would it have been so hard for him to put the link where he copy/pasted from? It wasn't like I claimed I did all that, I just figured everyone would be familiar with IMDB. You need to chill out, you're ready to jump all over someone at the drop of a hat. |

| Actually, I remember seeing one of the riders with Sunglasses on. If I remember correctly you can see him as the riders ride away after the trio's first meeting with them (when they tell them about the orc pile). For all I know, the guy could be wearing some odd piece of armor that looked like sunglasses, but that was the impression I got. |
