question about requiem

i was watching Requiem For A Dream before with my little brother. i had seen the movie once before and it was his first time. he loved it. anyways, he asked me a question and i had no idea either, i guess i just shrugged it off when i watched it the first time...

why did they go to jail? for drugs? it didnt even look like they were proven guilty...the doctor just walks in and sees his arm and then next thing you know they're arrested. and why did marlon (or whatever wayans it was) have to stay in jail???

any feedback would be nice

They actually changed the movies at the last minute to make us feel SOME emotion toward the characters.

In the real ending Wayans and White Boy Mcgee get to Florida and overdose... the girl kicks her habit and opens a clothes store after realizing how much of a loser she has been and the mother has the red dress hemmed so that it fits her... the game show calls, she goes on TV and wins a new washing machine.

THE END!

They went to jail for the drugs they had in the car, when the tracklines were found on his arm the doctor alerted authorities. They found who he came in with, searched the car, yah drugs. The healthy one goes to jail and other gets his arm lopped off, simple.

Pretty sure they can toss you into rehab regardless of having more drugs. Of course that would mean Wayans wouldn't have gone to jail.
