new Star Trek movie : Nemesis...

Just saw the like... 30 sec clip on Fox for it... opening Dec. 13th...

Anyone heard of this yet? I haven't seen any other Trailers prior to this, and it's just two weeks before the release...

maybe I have been blind... but another THG themed movie on the big screen is worth my five bucks...

well, at least better than seeing Treasure Planet i bet... any comments as to what people have heard or seen so far on it? or any clues to the plot? looks like a new alien race... kinda borglike.. not so tech heavy... and more Picard...

during enterprise this week every commercial break played a commercial for it...about 1 or 2 months back they showed an extended commercial for it during that asstastic twilight zone show.

It's not the twilight zone without rod serling, kthxbye.

The trailer has also been floating around the web too...I think around the same time they had the first commercial for it during twilight zone they put it up on the offical Star Trek website.

But yeah, it hasn't really recieved much attention.

PS they're not just romulans...they're romulans from the DARK SIDE OF THE MOON or some shit, so they're EXTRA evil.

If it is the last TNG movie, picard NEEDS to die. We don't need him popping up after a century in a hick paradise like Kirk. Urgh I hated that movie so much. Plz to make Deep Space Nine movies now. Not Voyager. Pray to sweet baby jesus they don't make voyager movies.

As I've said before, they won't be making any DS9 or Voyager movies. Any future Star Trek films will be based on Enterprise. And I wouldn't expect to see those for quite awhile.

Playing the (lame) PS2 game based on Treasure Planet which contains clips of the movie, I can tell you it's yet another victim of the "let's put some X-treme sport in it to be cool and in" sydrom. The hero does some sky-surfing and wind-surfing... like Tarzan was grinding on the trees...

Pretty artificial and pathetic if you ask me...

dude, they put that in Treasure Planet because the kid wanted to be a pirate or at least an explorer, but he of course didn't have his own ship to sail around in...so he made due with what he could afford, which is, yes, like a sailboard that flies. It really does fit into the movie very well, which you'd have known if you'd seen it instead of judging it from some random clips in some ghey PS2 ripoff.

Enterprise is a fantastic series, I hope it's on the air for a few more seasons.

Here's a question...

I'd love to see a couple of cameos by Scott Bakula's partner from Quantum Leap... damned if I can remember his name though...

Maybe come up with some simple alien race, and Asher runs into them, has to work out some on the fly diplomatics, then one of them shows up in a few episodes, as a personal friends of the Captain's... who knows... I'd just like to see them on screen together...

Dean Stockwell played 'Al' in Quantum Leap. {insert imdb.com plug}. On a personal note, he actually ate at the restaurant I worked at back in high school once.

Yes, Enterprise is quite enjoyable. The characters are pretty interesting to watch, and seeing them get their butts kicked regularly instead of outhinking god-powered enemies is rather refreshing.

Short Synopsis:
ST:TOS - Classic scifi, Kirk and Spock and McCoy, oh boy. Short skirts and tight pants for all. Lots of action. Excellent exploration series.

ST:TNG - Great scifi, dynamic crew, engaging stories. Spandex for all. Lots of action, and just as many fun and story twist types of episodes.

STS9 - Good scifi, excellent drama. More spandex for all, special flavors for Trills and Bajorans. Much more plot driven than any other ST series due to being relatively fixed in terms of locales. The whole war plotline was excellent, blending action and psychology (Section 13, patriotism, morality twists abound).

ST:Voyager - Mediocre scifi, mediocre drama. Spandex for all, special accessories for Borgs. The whole 'strangers in a strange land' thing just wasn't too fun. The series as a whole would have been 100x better if Kess had warped them all home when she went through her metamorphosis.

ST:Enterprise - Great scifi, great drama. Spandex forever, now in Vulcan contours. This series is a return to the roots in many ways. It's a story of first contacts and human errors as the roots of the Federation are being sown.

Original ST: cowboys in space. It was amazing how many space nazis and space romans there were! And Harry Mudd is still my favorite character evah. Aside from Khan of course. Khan got the hottie redhead...the ONLY time kirk didn't get the girl in the series I think!

TNG: I liked Q. John de Lancy is cool. Troi = space slut. wil wheaton = wanker. My only dislike was how they went around 'pwning' most anyone. It's no fun when you're the most powerful!

DS9: I just loved DS9. All the characters were good, and despite my wish to see a ds9 movie it really ended itself well, and all the problems from season 1 through were resolved fairly well. Not to mention the round and pudgy dax that replaced the next to final season or so was gud! The early seasons were fairly mediocre acting, but then again Babylon 5 had a really mediocre start too. Everyone liked babylon 5 by the time it "ended" it and moved to cable channels! =)

Voyager: Yargh. Every episode ended with capt. janeway bitching out SOMEONE for disappointing her. Janeway seriously got on my nerves. Neelix too. Only Star Trek I don't watch reruns of, hehe.

Enterprise: I dunno. The time war is a pretty slack idea. I keep watching it though...

This thread makes me yearn for an Extended Universe Star Wars tv show. *cry*

Edit: With a director and writer OTHER then Lucas. Timothy Zahn as writer, and someone else for director would make me a happy Star Wars Geek.
