If I were to witness a supernatural event, even an entity like the one in this movie, I wouldn't automatically assume that the whole heaven/hell mythology was suddenly true. I would still be very skeptical that an exorcism performed by the local priest would actually work in driving it away. The psychic says in this movie that there's a lot of debate about what demons are; the only thing they know for certain is that they're not human. I would take the same view and not make any convenient assumptions, especially when my life is at risk.

The one they watched online, after he looked up "Diane", some woman that had similar haunting issues as the female lead.

Movie was okay, didn't really scare me, but a few parts were freaky. Didn't have the atmosphere of a theater though, but I think that might've just made me laugh at people overreacting to some of the lame shit.

Yeah it was like a deleted scene or something. The ouji board spelled out Diane, he managed to find a video of her exorcism on the internet where she chewed her own arm off.

i dont think priests had anything to do with her chewing her arm off. maybe it had more to do with the fact she was possessed by a frickin demon. you know because demons usually dont possess you for funzies. its like blaming the cops for bank robberies. if the cops didnt arrest bank robbers then everything would be ok.

Watched a movie called Joshua last night with Sam Rockwell and I must say although I wasn't expecting anything (was on a movie channel in the UK, never heard of it) I really enjoyed it.

Rockwell plays his character very well and his actions are all the better for the fact he does all the shit YOU would do in his situation, 5 mins before you're thinking "well fuck I'd do this" he does it.

I don't know what to describe the genre as though, closest thing I could come to is horror.

It's not like that at all. The chick wasn't chewing her arm off before they tried the exorcism. Katie wasn't murdering her boyfriend until he fucked with the demon to the point that it possessed her and made her kill him. Common theme here = fucking with the demon.

yep i realize that, but you're really leaving no other option. if a demon possesses you or your gf. is there anything you could do to get rid of it without "fucking with the demon"? you dont want demons inside you, specially if you're a cute chick cuz the demon will give you a case of the uglies.

If you're to take everything in the movie at face value, the only real "good" outcome would have been for them to just stop all the fucking around with it and it would have kept turning the water on downstairs or being a vague presence somewhere at the foot of the bed in the dark. But they pissed it off, so it owned them.

And who was it in this thread who said they'd never met a cocky asshole who was a day trader? Have you just never met a day trader? I think that's one of the main requirements.
