Creation.

Looks good, really. Sad that it apparently can't find anyone to bring it to the USA because religious America would baaaw.

Interesting.

And I know this isn't really feasible in movies these days, but I wish they could have just made an interesting film about his life without implying a love story or a struggle with religion.

yeah... A story on Charles Darwin writing his book on the theory of evolution and not including his struggle with religion... that'd work really well.

If I remember correctly, he was religious before his work on the Origin of Species.

Yeah, he was.

But there's no way you can bring religion in to a story about his life and be completely unbiased one way or the other. The topic is hot enough as it is. I'm just tired of the debate and how much this will fuel it even more.

But like I said, purely wishful thinking. Not really doable for a movie. I'll most likely end up going to see it regardless.

You can't really talk about Darwin's life without touching religion and the struggle with his family. His life is pretty interesting, and I am glad this movie is coming out

I love the response from the director in that article. Basically it's 2009. This is ludicrous.

there one problem with evolution tho

most ppl keep seeing it like a religion. Like the evolution of species is some kind of natural force that push spieces to change and adapt to the situations

thats wrong

evolution is a total casual phenomeno (sp?). Once in a while casual mutations happend that can bring to better survivality, and that single mutation in a single member of a spiece can be passed down to the future generations and become dominant

thats how evolution works. there are billions of mutations we dont know cause they never had the chance to spread. its not really a positive things all the times

evolution is much more atheistic that most ppl think. it's just pure casuality

EDIT - and yes, fuck religion

Maybe it's just denial, but I find it really hard to believe that 39% figure. There can't possibly be that many stupid people in this country, can there? /cry

The smart ones don't stop to take a poll on the phone or in the mall. We have things to do.

Not even.

I wouldn't take a poll on the phone or in the mall even if I had nothing better to do.

Really? Depending on the situation, I don't have a problem doing polls. Hell, I'm signed up with Environics to do online survery's etc from time to time. I figure my opinions are so fucking awesome, they should be reflected appropriately.

Hey, I don't do polls myself but even if it were twice that (still only 78%) I would be a bit scared.
