| Does Disney even allow Marvel levels of violence in the media they release? Do they have conglomerates producing gory films already? I really don't keep track of which Mega-Corporations own what anymore. ![]()

+25 Internets | If there was Pirates of the Caribbean in Kingdom Hearts, I don't see why they would not put some Marvel super guys and girls in a future game, if Disney owns the rights for them.

Edit - this part of reading an article about it made me sad: Disney’s acquisition does notaffect the deals for movies in place at other movie studios, such as Spider-Man and X-Men at 20th Century Fox. If any of Marvels partnerships should come to end, that'd be it. Last edited by meStevo; 08-31-2009 at 03:00 PM.. | |

+49 Internets | Disney knows in order to make money, you need to appease your fans. You won't see Punisher in the theme parks, but that doesn't mean Disney would abandon the character...they would just market it to that older demographic that likes it. People forget Disney used to own Dimension films.

| I don't see how any of the Marvel movies can get much worse. I see this as a good thing. I hope that the quality in Wolverine/Deadpool movies are on par with Pirates of the Caribbean in terms of writing and directory and what not down the line. |

+12 Internets | Disney already owns ESPN, Touchstone Pictures, Miramax Films and Pixar and a bunch of other shit. I think they've learned their lesson with interfering with Pixar's greatness. They'll probably hold off on jumping right into Marvel to change shit up. If anything soon, its going to be using Marvel IP for their theme parks, which would be pretty cool in 5-10 years imo.

| It may be just my hatred for Disney, but for something like Marvel... $4 billion seems to be a little on the low end. If I was in that meeting discussing selling Marvel I sure in the hell wouldn't sell it for $4 billion. And sure in the fuck wouldn't have Disney in on it.
