+8 Internets | Friend of mine went and saw the AICN showing and said it was the best movie he's seen all year. As far as IMAX is concerned, true IMAX like the one at the Bridge here in LA are clearly suprerior to normal viewing. I will say there is a low grade IMAX that I still find better but a true IMAX screen and sound is an experience. |

| I haven't seen the movie but from watching some director and producer interviews the movie don't seem to be focused on apartheid.

| "focused" as in "this movie is all about aparthied", no. But it seems pretty clear that there is a message that the human-alien segregation and shitty treatment of the aliens is a serious factor in the setting for the movie. |

| Just got back from it, GREAT movie, definitely didn't realize it was rated R for some reason. Lotta cursing and violence, which I guess considering the subject matter, was appropriate. This is one of the finest examples of trailers done RIGHT. The trailers give you the whole premise but only hinted at parts of the plot, I thought it was going to be a long drawn out diatribe on why segregation is bad, yada yada, and while that was obviously there, there was an entire movie going beneath it. +25 Internets | definitely glad I saw it. Starts off trying to be a tad too clever, but then gets into the guts of the movie. Doesn't really answer all the questions you want it to, but it doesn't really need to. Felt a bit of a cloverfield vibe, but much better imo. |

| I'm still trying to sort out who's movie this actually is, Jackson or Blomkamp. The role of director and producer overlaps at times and when they state things like "This guy presents, a film by this other guy", it doesn't really help. I know Jackson did more than just market it and drop by at random times for updates, but how much of an active role did he play in developing the thing?
