He then speculated on whether it will come back and declare war on humans.

So yeah, there was no "better place".... he was going back home to get help in order to be able to free his people from human expiriments. Whether that means bringing an expiditionary force of power suits to simply extract the refugee aliens, or come with the entire cavalry and shit on the whole human race, is something we dont know yet.
I was just going to let this die, but this begged a response.

So your theory is that they were hanging out on their home planet, everything all peaceful, and decide, "Hey, let's go on a field trip to earth!!" So, they get there, just hang out starving, and then wait for the humans to come bust their way in the ship. Then, once they are taken from the ship, and put into camps, they decide, "Holy shit, we are being mistreated!", and decide to go home to ask for help?

Which then brings me back to my original point of Why did they leave their home in the first place? Because obviously, according to you, they had no problems with the home planet, because they were going back to ask for help in saving their people on Earth. So any reason they had for leaving their planet is invalidated if they are just going to bebop back there like nothing happened.

All I am saying is they could have done a better job with the holes in the plot. As I stated in my OP, I enjoyed the movie for the special effects and the action, but I had some questions that went unanswered, which made no sense. Now, an I don't know answer would have been a perfectly fine answer, but if you are going to try and explain the plot holes with logic, then don't be pissed off when anyone responds. It's like if you didn't like the move for ANY reson, you just called people's mother a whore...lol.

You know what, you are right. I am just tired of most movies that come out now not putting much thought into the background of a story. Its like the writers just say fuck it, put tits, beer, guns, and explosions in a movie, and the drones will love it!

I'm sorry, but you're being silly now. For the most part this movie represented the very opposite of what you just said. I won't say it was the smartest sci-fi movie ever, but it was smart enough that it let the audience figure some things out. There was no need for them to explicitly answer that question, there are plenty scenarios with all sorts of variables that would have had the aliens end up on Earth (the ship could have been some kind of a life boat, there was some sort of disaster on another ship that they baled on and typed in the coordinates of the nearest inhabited planet), go ahead and pick one, figure something of your own out. Or don't, and realize that's not the point. You only know what the people in the movie know.

Your last sentence is dumb though, there was very little exploitation of those elements in this movie aside from the violence, but that was done well enough for pretty much anyone to appreciate it I'd hope. I agree with you if we're talking about the film industry at large, but as far as I'm concerned this was a good step away from that. It's not perfect by any means, but I hope it gets the support necessary for producers to feel like they can take bigger risks within the genre. Unfortunately, the more likely scenario if it does well is that it spawns a bunch of lesser clones.

They only speculated that it was a command module. How would the humans know what the fuck it is?

The movie was very enjoyable.

I did have a complaint about the same liquid being used as fuel also turned the guy into one of the prawns, but after realizing the aliens weaponry used their DNA, it would be acceptable that their fuel did too. So, I really dont have a complaint about the movie. Everything else was good.

Most of you trying to figure things out that arent explained in detail, who cares what another person thinks. Come to your own conclusion and be happy with that. Its one thing to share your ideas of what happened with another, but to ask "How did this happen?" and then once someone explains it, you shoot it to pieces.

Fuck.

I would love to be a mechanic where you live. I could just tell you that your car was "tired" and needed a new transmission. Because hey, don't you question my explanation!!

Nobody shall think for themselves!! FUCK!

yeah, because when my car has something wrong, it has one specific problem wrong that could be pin-pointed. But a movie, anyone's guess is as good as another as long as the writers left it open for speculation.

But following your Mechanic example, I am not going to ask a mechanic what is wrong with my car and then attempt to shoot his theory to pieces just because it sounds ridiculous. Especially if I was asking him what was wrong.

So your car breaks down, and they tell you that you need new tires, you buy them and then sit at the shop with 4 brand new tires, wondering if you have enough money for a cab. Lol, now who is being silly?

Are you here to talk about the movie or troll this thread? Your complaints suck. You are no where near as good (or bad) as Astrocreep. STFU.

I really did not enjoy the documentary style of the first half. I just felt like it dragged on trying to fill time or something. A good number of people actually walked out of the theater during this time. I understand they are trying to setup the story of the movie but think they could have done this better. I still really enjoyed the movie though. So is everyone just assuming that there is going to be another movie or has this actually been confirmed?

Also, when the child prawn was looking at the hologram at their own world and asking questions about it, didn't the father say they couldn't go home? And after that the father points to a piece of paper and says "This is where we were going." My thought is that the shit was a lifeboat, transporting people of his world to another or something.

Yes, but I believe that he was telling the child that they could not go home because the fuel was missing, and they did not know where it was. Once the NTU guy told them that the fuel was back at headquarters, the plan to go home was back in effect.
