The Avengers

Didn't see a thread for it when I hit search.

The Avengers (2011)

Who else do you think we'll see in this? Ed Norton as the hulk? Hugh Jackman as Wolverine maybe? Will the Fantastic Four make an appearance? If so, will they be the same actors?

Discuss.

After the shit-storm that happened between Ed Norton and the studio, I don't think we'll see Ed Norton as the Hulk.

EDIT: Release date was moved to May 4th, 2012.

it will be iron man, thor, cap, hulk, hank pym in a giant man or ant man dunno ..and Nick Fury

they will be building up a few films with the solo characters...apparently have cap in a movie playing entirely in WW2 before he gets frozen. Iron man 2 (wich will have Mickey Rourke as crimson dynamo??)

dunno how they are going to handle thor....Sam L jackson will be in a fuckton of cameo's before his Nick Fury movie.

First off, I would highly doubt any characters that Marvel licensed to other studios (X-Men, FF, Daredevil, Spidey, etc.) would appear in the movie.

Secondly, the Avengers lineup has to include at least one woman; the Wasp is a lock, but after that, I'm fuzzy (Scarlet Witch & She-Hulk would take too much exposition, no one knows who Ms. Marvel or Moondragon are).

i still cant picture how Thor can be done right

dont get me wrong, i love Thor and of all the comic book movies in these years, he is the character i want see the most on big screen. But comic fan nerdiness aside....how can you do it well?

we are not talking about a man transforming into a monster (Dr jekil and Mr hyde is over 1 century old story after all), or someone inside a supertechonological power suit, or even genetical mutants with super powers. They all have some kind of scientific basic that keep them inside the limit of our mass-culture disbelief

but a god? a true mythological god inside a modern era enviroment? with magic and all his mythological backgroup and characters, from Asgard to giants, to Loki, Odin, Hela or even Ragnarok ?

how you can do it right ?

(not mentioning the jihad religious assholes will do when they will see a movie about a living god)

I had assumed with no factual backing at all that it would be the Ultimates version (at least the one I saw in the animated feature).

You know, Thor, but everyone else thinks he's slightly deranged in thinking he's the actual Thor and that he's not actually an Asgardian God.

The truth on that point would be vague.

Superman is closer to a god than Thor is. far as i know norse mythology is not a widely believed religion. it would be fucking cool if Jesus was written into a superhero movie. oh wait i think they did and called it The Matrix

So is Spiderman being reclaimed by Marvel? That could lead to him showing up in the Avengers, at least in some capacity (Ironman does try to recruit him multiple times)

If you go back and watch the progression of Will Smith's movies in the last 10~ years, you'll notice that he is unmistakably building toward his own ascension into the role of Black Jesus.

Meaning that yes, Jesus has been in a superhero movie. Hancock.

I liked it. I know most people hated it, but it was sort of like a new old bond film. It's stupid, but it's stupid fun. Plus, I always appreciate umbrella based ass kicking.

I don't know why they'd remake it though, especially with comic book characters. That seems odd.

edit: How is it that I cannot find any pictures of Sean Connery in his brightly colored teddy bear suit? That's like half the reason to watch the stupid movie.

edit 2: Internet wayback, ho!
