Best Underrated Movies

So I just watched The Beach again after about 4 or 5 years from seeing last and I always knew I liked it, but completely forgot how great it actually is. I had forgotten Danny Boyle directed this as well, which along with Sunshine, Trainspotting, and now Slumdog are some of my favorite movies. Went to check IMDB about the actors in The Beach and noticed the rating was at a 6.2, a 19% on rottentomatoes, and horrid scores among other places. I'm completely dumbfounded as to how people rated this movie so low which inspired me to create this thread to find more great films that somehow got underrated.

These types might actually be rare, but I'd like to know some other potential gems that I might have skipped out on because of reviews.

Good calls on Dark City and Primal Fear for sure. Along the same lines as Dark City actually but I kinda dug The Thirteenth Floor.

Dark City is one of my favorite movies of all time, glad to see it getting some love <3 Willaim Hurt.

A quick check at some of my favorites:

Mirror Mask (52%)
Night Watch (58%- inferior to Day Watch, but not *that* bad... much better if you haven't read the book(s) IMO)
Dune (Sci-fi movie/sequel or original)

In Bruges, this year, was really underrated. It deserved more recognition than it got. I think it'll end up being a cult classic.

Very true.

Also "The Rules of Attraction (2002)". It's definitely underrated, many many golden scenes in there, imo.
