Its pretty amazing that marvel hit Tony stark almost spot on. I hope they bring up his drinking habbits but I doubt they will since its more aimed towards teens. Only characters I think they have really hit spot on was

Professor X
Tony Stark
Ryan Reynolds as Wade Wilson was great. Blows my mind they were able to fuck that up in the end

it's because Marvel has complete control over Iron Man whereas Fox had control of the Wolverine/X-Men franchise.

if the Wolverine was done by the marvel team... Deadpool would have stole the movie.

Robert Downey Jr. and John Favreau stated that Tony Stark's alcoholism would be included in Iron Man 2, in part because of his superhero fame after the events of Iron Man, and in part because Pepper Potts gets in a relationship.

S.H.I.E.L.D. will play an important part in the movie, with Samuel L. Jackson returning as Nick Fury (he signed a 9 movie deal with Marvel Studios) and Scarlett Johanson as Black Widow.

War Machine (played by Don Cheadle) will be in the movie, and the main villain is set to be Whiplash played by Mickey Rourke. Note that the movie version of Whiplash also takes several elements from another villain, Crimson Dynamo.

The Mandarin is also meant to be the archvillain in the Iron Man trilogy (Favreau stated he wanted to do a trilogy), but they want to keep him shrouded in mystery for now, although hints (The Ten Rings in the first movie) will likely be in the movie.

Favreau compared showing the Mandarin to Emperor Palpatine in the original Star Wars trilogy, saying that Mandarin should appear in his full glory in "Return of the Jedi" and not "A New Hope" (hinting that the Mandarin will truly be battled in an upcoming sequel).

That is true, but he is one of my favorite characters and I think they did pretty damn solid on him. Was sad when I heard he wasn't going to be in 3, until I saw 3, then I was happy.

Yeah he was amazing, the opening scene in x-men 2 I think was maybe the best action scene in any of the Marvel movies.

I second that. Also, the scene where Rogue gets blown the fuck out of the X-Men Jet and he teleports to catch her and teleports back aboard the jet was pretty nifty too.

Well with Rourke and Johansson it seems to me this can't fail at all. Atleast the cast is becoming somewhat epic like the Dark Knight. ;p and no, of course it won't top that.

Unless Rourke dies after filming...
