Bleach - The Diamon Dust Rebelion

I just saw this movie last night and it was amazing. The story, was much better than the first movie they came out with. They did a much better job intergrating the characters and backstory into this one. It's got more of the manga feel to it than the first movie (Memories of Nobody).

If you're a fan of the animie then you should check this out. I got it via torrent (subtitled), but I think it's available online to order. If not then downloading it may be your only option aside from waiting for it release in the US.

Bored me to tears...
ninjaedit: because theres something really off putting when you see the same characters do the same thing that have done in the anime over and over with very little interesting plot devices. I will give it credit for the FF7 references though

Time-wise the second movie would occur after Ichigo becomes a Vaizard, but before they journey to Hueco Mundo. The backstory and flow of this movie was a lot better than the first, but I agree with Kiely the action was severely lacking.

Well I've followed the anime somewhat but haven't bothered during the past few episodes or so. I also read the manga but haven't kept up lately either.

ANYWAY, I always read it as Ichigo never fully becoming a Vaizard, no? He only had a limited amount of time where he could use his Vaizard powers, and that left me under the impression that he still had a lot to develop on that account.

Ichigo did indeed become a Vaizard, otherwise he would have no way to control his Hollow side. Initially all Vaizards can only summon their masks for a short time, thus they require intense training in order to maintain the mask for longer periods. Before going into Heuco Mundo Ichigo could only last for 13 seconds, but later on during his fight with Grimmjow he demonstrates mastery over the mask and is able to wear it for the whole fight, although it deteriorates as the fight progresses due to overuse of power and battle damage.

There is one exception that is mentioned: Mashiro Kuna, the green-haired ditzy girl with a motorcycle suit and goggles. She was able to maintain her mask for 15 hours on the first attempt, so she didn't require any training.

I enjoyed the movie. I liked how they let each of the more famous characters get their own little 5 minutes of ass kickin', even though if you think too hard on who kicked who's ass, it'll leave your heard hurtin'. Bleach is very bad for having bad ass characters just getting their asses handed to them for no real reason other than for the sake of plot, but I guess that theme is common in this sort of thing.

Yeah the ending fight was pretty sweet, not totally omfg awesomelike, but it was nice seeing many of the really powerful people in action all at the same time fighting on the same side, unlike the usual 1 good guy versus 1 bad guy and one fight takes 10 episodes.

Eh it was ok, but I found myself fast-forwarding through parts.

And fuck what is it with the writers always having the bad guy "drive Seretei into chaos" and "Confuse the 13 squads", and all this shit. That's all that ever happens.

Ichigo finds out something, the Commander General orders the squads to stop him, turns out Ichigo was right and the bad guys planned it this way, etc. etc.

It's happening right now in the fillers too.

Fuckin annoying, the Commander General is a fucking idiot.
