+13 Internets | Without the original cast signed on my response will be a resounding: "NoooOOOOOoOooooOOoooooooooo" The original two movies were essentially perfect in all ways. Please, don't tarnish my childhood heroes. Please?

| lol Consumptionjunction.com was the 1999 version of 4chan. That clip on the prior page... the scene in the elevator where Egon switches Ray's pack on and backs away to the corner kills me every time. That type of subtle humor is gone in most holywood comedies now.

| I hope it doesn't come out. All the previous discussions were that it would be done completely in CGI since the actors are all old nowadays. Harold Ramis (Egon) is overweight though, heh. Physically they might not be able to do it. If that happens, chances are it might not be so good anyway since that leaves a lot of improv out. Bill Murray was notorious for that in his movies, especially Ghostbusters.

| on one hand, the actors are older now and they couldn't do the whole running around thing with proton packs and look normal like the originals. on the other, you just cant go wrong with a movie that brings such gems as "that was your plan, ray? get her!?", "I have seen shit that would turn you white!", "I respect her as a client, because she paid in advance before she got turned into a dog", "haha no, we're exterminators, someone saw a cockroach up on 12", and my personal favorite, "The slime reacts the other way too, we take turns talking to it, singing to it, nurturing it, giving it positive encouragement... "Your not sleeping with it, are you ray?"...."/palmtoface" |

| I think ghostbusters 2 was a poor sequel to to the original and at the time hoped they would stop making them. 20 years later i think i would like one more movie, sort of a where are they now to the series. i liked the previous poster's idea of having a young set of GBs competing with the original GBs. i dont care if it has CGI as long as its good CGI in small doses. stay puff man was well done for its time and would like to see a similar high quality baddie in CGI. i think the action scenes can be pulled off altho you're gonna need a extra wide screen resolution cuz the guys are quite a bit stouter than last time. |

| The second ghostbusters was NOT that good. It was a commercial suckfest of rap in its budding stages and all kinds of other cheesy suck offs. If you don't believe me just watch it again. I still like the movie but it really could have done w/out the Bobby Brown cameo or his MC Hammeresque Addams Family commercial sell out song. Was it a surprise he fell off the grid musically after that? The original was comedy gold. They woulda made this movie years and years ago but Bill Murray wouldn't sign on for it. My guess is he was as disgusted with the 2nd movie as a half sell out/ half movie also. That and he was off doing all his fancy artsy crap movies, 3/4s of which I hate. Wtf Bill? You're comedy genius, do what you're good at now that you're finished sucking all the critics off, make some movies for real people again... Saw Dan Akroyd on tv a while back saying he and Egon had the 3rd script written years ago but Murray wouldn't sign on, not just pulling that out of my ass, probably on Bravo or some shit...

| This has been talked about for YEARS and has never gotten off the ground (until now?). I know Bill Murray has refused to do another Ghostbusters in the past...not sure why he would change his mind now. It's not like he hasn't had any work. I love the first Ghostbusters...in fact it's one of my favorites of all time, but II was just horrid. |

| First page of this thread had me questioning my sanity. Thankfully page 2 confirmed my belief that GB2 was just short of a steaming pile. I loved the first movie as a kid. When I found out there was a sequel coming, I was as excited as everyone else. Watched it and felt completely disappointed. Cathan's post nailed it. It will be interesting to see how the new one plays out.
