| Looking for a Korean Action Movie Anyone remember or ever seen a Korean action movie that's in a medivial setting. The cover has a guy with a sword wearing some sweet ass banded mail armor. The movie revolves around these two warriors and I for the life of me forgot the name. |

+25 Internets | This movie was pretty good. In style it's, as it is often the case with korean movies, closer to japanese movies than to hong-kong ones. 100% No joke, very dark mood and very bloody. It is for sure an ample production with a lot of extras, nice costumes and sets. I was not that impressed with the choreography of the fights nor by how they were filmed, but it is pleasant none the less. The good surprise for me was the constant and clever use of ellipsis and the ability to create a solemn atmosphere all the while never letting a single scene drag on. Dark, solemn, but not slow. While there are many similarities with japanese cinema, there is a similarity with HK cinema that I really could have done without: this is a story of "virile friendship" like there are many in kung fu movies and let just say that, in the end, Sword in the Moon almost makes Chang Cheh look straight.
