but Naaaaaaaaaaaaah we see none of that cuz they didnt show one second of the world cup. thats why the movie kinda sucked, it was still entertaining but it brutally butchered the story to make things fit.
See, that's exactly the problem. The books were so involved with so many sub-plots that were relatively unrelated to the main-plot that it was retarded of them to ever consider making movies out of them. The only type of film able to pull that off would by a TV series with 13-episode seasons for each book.

But since the initial greedy fuckers already decided to butcher the story into 2 hour montages, you might as well make your own movie and tell Rowling to go fuck herself with her 24c gold dildo.(she's entirely to blame for the first director not being allowed artistic license)

I liked the first two movies, to me they translated extremely well the salient portions of the book - the boy wizard, the amazing magical world, Hogwarts, the world of muggles, and the mysterious bad guy. The books got darker and darker, which is the authors perogative, and the movies, to me, didn't get better, just darker and weirder and less focused.

I guess the first movies really brought to life the world of Harry Potter to me, and after that, it was hard to keep up with the books with so much getting lost and the details becoming hard to mirror.

really wish they would form up a group of people who would agree on what parts of the movie/book translation should not be left out at all costs and work around that. Even with different directors, some things should not have been left out. Story about how james and co invented the magic map is the first and strangely only thing to come to mind, but damnit all if they pick some of the dumbest shit to put into the movies at the expense of intriguing information to remove.

That being said, cant' wait to see the lake scene in this, if its the same as the previews where Dumbledore is spinning around w/ fire it should be awesome to watch.

Cut for time. Also, no backstory will be provided on Tom Riddle... due to it being cut for time.

So, sorry for the double-post, but... if they're splitting the 7th book up into 2 movies, doesn't that mean that the first movie is going to be nothing but Harry and Hermione teleporting themselves around the countryside for half a year? Cause... that's kinda the first half of the book...

Yeah, really if any HP book was perfect for "double movie" it was Goblet of Fire. Really the two movie thing is just the obvious money grab for book 7.

If they were smart they would've filmed everything in its entirety, cut the length down to the current movies, then released extended editions like the Lord of the Rings sets. But I guess not!

Am I the only one waiting for 10-20 years for them to remake the HP movies and do them correctly?

If mediocre movies is all they can make out of the multi-billion dollar HP franchise, you know something is wrong.

Sixth book was never really my thing. 5th is still the best, 7th and 3rd share a second place. The most interesting thing for me in the sixth book was also some of the Voldemort flashbacks but also the little drama between Ron and Hermione (and Lavender and Harry and Ginny etc.). Besides that, it's meh.

Moving back to the movies. I've said this a billion of times. Gambon sucks as Dumbledore and whoever writes the manuscripts for him to act it out with dialogue and everything should be shot. Dumbledore is if any one of the best characters in the whole HP universe, far more interesting than Harry himself and he gets trashed so fucking much in the movies (ignoring first and second). I die so much inside everytime I see the scene "DON'T YOU HAVE SOME STUDYING TO DO?", jesus titty-fucking christ.

And yes, I totally agree - I'm still waiting for a complete remake of all of this. The books have definitely grown onto me, so I would love taking a journey down back into youth, in case they remake them when I'm 50, assuming I live that long.
