+6 Internets | Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince - Moviefone Can't fucking wait. Even though the last two movies took a major departure from the books, I'm really looking forward to this. |

| Really? The most recent 2 are the only ones I can stand at all. Artistic license is an absolute must when making a film based on a popular book. The first ones tried to get all the specific descriptions right and ended up neglecting to tell any semblance of a story. I feel like stabbing my eyes out during them. Oh, they got the pattern of the bed-curtains right? How about they add a linear fucking plot structure first.

+1 Internets | ^This^ Does anyone not agree? It's a shame. Personally I feel the movies have faded with each succession. I haven't read the books - which I'm sure changes things. The trailer however looks great. Unlike the others sequels, I'm really looking forward to this one. |

| Well, the last 2 movies have to be better than the last 2 books at the very least. I thought the writing declined in the last two books...was like she got her billions and was like..Oh fuck I have to finish this... That said, 1 and 2 were good manly because of Richard Harris and Chris Columbus' direction. Number 3 sucked balls, Hi2u overuse of fade outs and random cuts, which is surprising because Alfonso Cuaron's other work has been a ton better. 4 and 5 were slightly better than 3 but still below 1 and 2 as far as bringing the world to life and still taking artistic license. I'll probably wait for HBO to show the 6th movie like I did for the 5th... P.S. Apparently they're breaking up the fucking 7th film into two parts...way to milk that cash cow fellas. |

+17 Internets | The only film so far that's been a disappointment for me is the 5th, not that it was bad or anything. Just wish it were a bit longer. I think the series is perfect the way it is right now. 1 and 2 are softer, brighter, more kid-friendly, and reflect the sort of exuberance and excitement the students feel coming to the school for the first time. Good introductory films, especially for the younger crowd (much like the books were). Number 3 grows darker as we start to realize that some bad shit is starting to go down and as the kids grow into adolescence. Shit hits the fan in number 4 and gets real serious. And number 5 is downright fucked up in some parts. 6 needs to be balls to the wall brutal and set everything up for the last 2-3 films (however many they're doing). I hope they get it right. I will agree though that Michael Gambon's Dumbledore is such a 180 in terms of tone and demeanor from Harris' that it's almost unwatchable if you've seen the first 2 films. I've just grown to ignore the switch and appreciate the acting. |

| The 6th was my favorite when I read it by far even though I had the ending spoiled before I started reading it. I didn't read the books until after I saw the 5th movie which compelled me to read them. It was my favorite movie, and I'm scared having read the books now that I will be let down like everyone else who read the books seemed to be with the 5th. What also scares me is an interview I read a while back with the director who said he wanted this film to be a little bit lighter than the last, focusing more on the relationships and the comedy that arises from them and less on the flash backs. Yesterday I read him say there would be 2 or maybe 3 flash backs. Reading that has led me to really lower my expectations. The flashbacks and continuously darkening tone were what made me love the books. If he can keep some tension and not get too cheesy during his romantic comedy scenes I'm sure I'll be more than satisfied after what should be an epic ending. |
