Ummm...wha? I'm as big a liberal as the next pinko, but I wonder how good this movie would do post January 2009. I'm all for a Democratic landslide, but its kind of old news how...special...our current president is.

Even if its from Oliver Stone.

Yes, Mr. Stone, we get it. He's the special olympian of the international community. Seriously, we get it.

Unless this movie is a farse; then, well, carry on.

Will anyone even watch this?

I can't imagine this getting a wide release or being anything other than film festival fodder. I mean, a serious biopic about historical figures can be interesting to watch -- but ffs, let the guy fade into history first.

That fading into history part can't come soon enough, either.

Can't say I give a shit about anything Oliver Stone has done since Natural Born Killers. This all seems a bit...uhh...soon?

The first 30 seconds of that trailer just make me think dubya is a cool dude. I always thought he'd be a great guy to hang out/party with but a good president that does not make.

I would LOVE to go out on the town one night with slick willy and dubya. I think all three of us would wake up with no memory/huge regrets and that means you had a good fucking time.

Given Stone's proclivity for making movies about real people not based on real fact (JFK, Nixon, etc.) I am sure this is going to be a hatchet job. The script was circulated to several Bush biographers that promptly denounced it. (Source)

Stone wanted to get this out in time for the November election to try and swing some votes Obama's way. That is a pretty underhanded use of his art IMO. If you want to campaign for someone, go ahead, but trying to rush a movie out to influence an election is bullshit. Especially if the movie has nothing to do with either candidate

hes rushing it not to help obama who wasnt even considered when this film was being made but because after november Bush will no longer be relevant.

i dont know who this film's target audience will be, people who hate bush wont wanna see a biography about him and people who love bush will stay away from this fictional rubbish. if stone had made a pro bush film he would get roasted alive by the left media but people would have flocked to see it. i liked JFK, Scarface and Natural Born Killers but his later stuff is just shit. it would have been better if Uwe Boll made a Bush movie.

You know the guy who played Llewelyn Moss in No country for old men (Josh Brolin) will be playing bush in this movie? And Richard Dreyfuss will be playing Cheney... Couldn't even recognize them from the trailer...

James Cromwell as George Bush Sr.? What???

From a physical appearance perspective at least, looks like most of the movie is horribly cast.

Seems like this should have waited a few years. This is like a 9/11 movie coming out in January of '02.

This isnt a bad time for this movie its just bad that Oliver Stone is one doing it. This movie needs to be comedy not a drama and thats nots what Stone is known for and his poltical bias will ruin this movie.

It will fail in US(hasnt holywood learned anything from all those Iraq war movies that bombed?) but may make money in Europe.

I'm actually looking forward to this. I love Oliver Stone as a filmmaker (wart, pedagogy and all) and Nixon was one of the best biopics of the last two decades.

It could be decent I guess, pretty sure Primary Colors was basically based on Clinton before he 'faded out' though too.
