| Cowboy Bebop - Live Action Fox Developing Cowboy Bebop Live-Action Feature Film! « FirstShowing.net Found this on digg saying that Fox is going to be doing the live action version of this movie. It could work or it could be the next Wing Commander. =P |

| And here I thought remaking a seemingly endless series of shitty j-horror flicks was as low as Hollywood could sink... but I guess it was inevitable they'd discover anime too. I can't even imagine what sort of abominations movies based on good anime like Bebop, Akira, and GITS will be like, let alone once they start in with the garbage (DBZ, Eva, and whatever else they have planned that I probably don't even want to know about). |

+23 Internets | A live action anything based on an anime will have to be so loosely based it might as well be called generic action title 101. Even something as simple as Hellsing will be fucked up even if they get Tilda Swinton who would make an awesome Integra Hellsing who the hell is going to be Alucard? If the porn industry starts doing live action tenticle attacks I won't be surprised. |

+23 Internets | After posting that I was going to look but then again I didn't really want to. To make a point though Anime is an art style and to make a live movie it kills most of the things that was good about the anime. Akira would have to be almost all CGI and even then giant teddies that bleed milk+super expanding baby with fingers on fingers will look cheesy in CGI. | It's enough to make one hope that the next major terrorist act will be in downtown L.A.

| That article was horrid. "And if you're wondering who Faye Valentine is, she's one of the main character's in the series and a fan favorite." Fans of Cowboy Bebop hate Faye. I mean, you kind of have to. "Sony released a full-length animated film titled Cowboy Bebop: Knockin' on Heavens Door in 2001 where it was greeted with immense praise from fans worldwide." I'm pretty sure that most fans weren't thrilled with the movie, and if any praise was paid it was far from 'immense'. The point is, conceptually Cowboy Bebop is already very American. If anything can be translated to a Hollywood produced live-action movie it is this, but I'm sure it'll still be terrible. I am a gigantic fan of the show, and I have no desire to see it brought around again. The package is complete. Whatever point Wantanabe was trying to make was already made. All they can do is throw together some 2-hour long filler episode about Spike's past (about which we already know enough) where he confronts Vicious at some ominous location with cool music. It still won't be Ballad of Fallen Angels, so why try. If it is just some story about them chasing a bounty, like the other movie, then why bother. What is the point? I like the series for a lot of reasons but the average Bebop fan isn't the same as the average fan of those junkie animes. I have no desire to see Spike and the gang get mixed up in some wacky adventure. The story was magnificent but it is done, let it be dead. |

| I think you have Faye and Ed mixed up there. And I'm about the furthest thing possible from an anime fanboy. The movie was great too, especially seeing it in an actual theater instead of just on DVD. |

| You're possibly the stupidest poster on this board and the biggest douchebag. Please stop posting and turn in your anime fanboy license.
