It is possible, but highly unlikely.

I'm sorry if you associate pity with love, I'd guess your parents made some mistakes with emotional connections when you were young.

Faye has no redeeming qualities, and there is no way one could like her but my initial point was simply that labeling her as "one of the most popular from the series" was a gigantic mistake. Many of the characters only appearing in one episode were more likable than her.

I'm not saying there is nothing interesting about her, and perhaps you are assuming that just because you spent time thinking about her you must like her but I'm sure if you really consider her actions and her place in the series you'll realize the truth.

And I am by no means defending Ed. I think Ed was, at the very least, likable but she was fairly flat as a character. Like Faye, though she had a very important part in the series overall.

I mean every character contributed to the story, and everything about the characters was important. Personality and characterization of the main cast are what set Bebop apart from others that are commonly associated with it.

And what was special about the movie? Sure it was a moderate filler episode but it did very little to make the show any more complete. It did nothing to add to Spike as a character, and everything else is just secondary.

LOL, "real fans". I love this kind of shit. Enjoying something isn't enough, you have to be a fucking douche to other people who enjoy it to show how much more you enjoy it than them. Wicked.

Cowboy Bebop is unique in that you could be oblivious to the story that really makes it unique and enjoy it just for the action and what not. Therefore, people that like it as 'just another anime action show' are not 'real fans.' Maybe I'm a douche, but if you were a real fan you would know what I mean.

I rather liked that Faye didn't give a shit about the others unless it benefited her, at least up until the point where she finally realized that she needed them as much/more than they needed her. She was an asshole, but since she was consistent in it I felt it added to the character rather than being a negative. I also thought that the Faye-background episodes were some of the best in the series.

Electra. Wish she'd been in the show, actually. Part of that may be the Jennifer Hale fanboy in me talking, I admit. I liked Vincent too, he had an interesting agenda at least. Sure, the movie was basically just a 90 minute episode wedged in between the last few, but what's wrong with that? It was preferable to them doing the movie Escaflowne-style (although I liked that one too, actually).

I'm not denying any of this. My claim wasn't that ridiculous, I just thought that article was overselling how popular of a character she was to fans. Hard Luck Woman is one of the most moving episodes and her position in the Real Folk Blues draws a significant amount of pity, hence my comments from earlier.

I'm not trying to say that I would have preferred the show without her, don't get me wrong. That article was just bad.

I agree that Faye was not one of the most interesting characters, but she was very well-written and acted when she needed to be. As far as how "popular" she is, I'd say she's probably the most recognizable character in the show if you were to just give a picture to random people.

Saying that someone is popular and that someone is awesome are not synonymous.

So you read neither the thread nor the article in debate, did you? First of all, I think there is sweeping agreement that she is, in fact, interesting. There really is nothing to debate there. I mean, My Funny Valentine aside, the episodes about her at least evoke some level of emotion. I never claimed to know or care what characters is most popular among the general population, I wouldn 't be surprised to find that it was Faye but that isn't the point. The article claimed that she was a fan favorite. Anyone who watched that show and said Faye is their favorite character should be embarrassed.

considering i got 3 negative votes for posting man Faye in cosplay thread, ill evoid it this time

ill just confirm that, yes, Faye is a very popular character, you can believe it or not Trex. Maybe because she was the main female character in a very popular serie, maybe because she was a bitch, or maybe (probably) because she was half naked during the entire show

the "why" doesnt change the fact she's very popular between anime fans

i don't think you understood my point. if you are only into action then you can like Cowboy Bebop for strictly that. If you are into scantily clad cartoon chicks then you can be into Cowboy Bebop for Faye. What makes it unique is its plot and character development. I don't know why people argue with me. All I'm really trying to say is that Bebop is better than a lot of its so called competition because it actually has some real content. If you don't understand that I'd prefer if you just don't watch Cowboy Bebop. Thanks.

I don't watch animes because they are animes, I normally watch them because the story, the atmosphere and the characters are so far from your standard Hollywood counterparts.
That said, if they can capture the atmosphere, the characters and the story in the same way the animes do, I have no problem of them converting them.....
Of course, that won't happen but since they are going to try anyway, Cowboy Bebop is probably one of the easiest ones.

If you think Faye isn't a popular character, I am going to have to agree with the people calling you retarded, and I don't throw that word around as lightly as a lot of people on the internets do.

I'm sure Faye is a popular character, but I'm also sure it's owing completely to the outfit she wears. She's quite obnoxious and not at all interesting.
