I've been a fanboi of his since The Patriot and especially A Knight's Tale. I really liked him in 10 Things I Hate About you, but I didn't know who the fuck he really was until A Knight's Tale.

This was a fantastic performance by Ledger. I'd have to agree with Thunder here. You'd look at the joker and you wouldn't even recognize him under the makeup. His voice, his mannerisms, his speech, everything about him was so completely different that it was just an overall A+ performance. Does his being dead make a difference in how I view it? Sure it does. Towards the end I kept thinking, "Man, this is the last thing we're going to see him in. This film/performance/role is so wicked, but this fucking sucks."

He should certainly be nominated. If he should win or not is hard to say since we haven't seen everything for the year yet, particularly the usual year end movies that tend to be put out in time for the award season. He was fantastic in the role and I would be highly disappointed if he didn't at least get a nomination. As a random side note, I'd bet he'll win the MTV Movie Award for best villian.

I would vote for him. He did amazingly well and I don't think it was over-hyped. Will be watching in theaters again and I'll be buying it on Blu-Ray when it comes out.

if he were to win an oscar people would bitch that he only won it because he's dead now and if he were to lose or not get nominated people would bitch that comic book movies are treated unfairly by the academy.

His performance was very convincing of a psychopathic cold hearted killer. i dunno if i would give him an oscar for it. on a scale of badass evil genius, then he is right up there with jigsaw, but i had no feelings for his portrayal of Joker other than disgust at his viciousness and brutality towards completely innocent bystanders. im getting old, i no longer think random homicides are the best thing since sliced bread.
