| http://www.fohguild.org/forums/milli...y-old-men.html I don't think it's a different trailer, but it might be. It's been awhile. |

| Doesn't look like a typical Coen Brothers film at all. It actually looks pretty good. That guy thinks he is two face, flipping a coin. Didn't see classic Cohen chars in it either like John Goodman or John Turturo.

| We saw this movie finally. I know it was nominated for Movie of the Year (I think it won), but I fail to see how this was any different from any other action movie made. Other than being ultra-violent, this was just like any of the other thousands of shoot-em ups made in the last 30 years. Did any of those movies get movie of the year? I hated this movie. It was just a bunch of old guys whining interspersed with lots of shooting. Lame.

That sentence can be rewritten by people better than me. As far as the acting. When Javier is giving the old man at the convenience store the 'choice' to live or not... that was pretty powerful stuff. Tommy Lee was par for the course, but the hunter was also very likable. I enjoyed him more in this movie than the last I saw him in.

Seriously, I didn't see where the payoff was on this movie. I am not trolling either. The only reason why I watched the movie in its entirety was because I knew it won all of the awards. We watched There Will Be Blood and No Country for Old Men back-to-back. We loved There Will Be Blood and scratched our heads on No Country.

| No Country had no payoff. Well acted. Beautifully shot. A script that was, as I understand it, true to the book (haven't read the book so I can't assert this for sure). Lousy movie.

Without patronizing, this message isn't as powerful until you've gotten to an age (chronological) where you are conflicted about your own time passing. That's my take.

I'd watch a movie that tackles with sense of inferiority to your betters (from past generations) and the feeling of time hedging on you from generations following your own. Last edited by ashatumar : 07-20-2008 at 11:47 AM.

| We are in 100% agreement on the movie part. I have no idea what people of think of the movie that also read the book.

| I don't understand how you could like There Will Be Blood yet dislike No Country for Old Men at the same time.
