| The "Must See" Kung-Fu list What Kung-Fu style movies, in your opinion, are a must see. They can be old and campy like "Master of the Flying Guillotine", red trouser masterpieces (hong kong stuntmen) or more modern (jacky chan, jet-li, etc). Parody movies, i can do with out. Please don't bring up over the top movies in the vein of "Kung Fu Hustle". |

+16 Internets | I am very partial to King Hu's The Valiant Ones(even in Touch of Zen and Raining In The Mountain are probably better films overall) and I also very much enjoyed John Woo's hommage to his master Chang Che: Last Hurrah for Chivalry. That said I saw entirely too much kung fu and wuxia movies with a friend of mine so I probaly would need to make a little brainstorm with him to make a decent list.

| i saw tons of kung fu movies back in the 70s on saturday afternoons but ill be damned if i can remember their names. the one i can remember was called Mortal Combat and it was about 4 guys who lose arms, legs, sight and hearing by this one gang and they all get revenge after learning uber kung fu. the one dude replace his legs with iron ones. 1 kick to the midsection and guts would fly. this is it, it has an alt name. Return of the 5 venoms Can que (1978) |

| Bruce Lee - all Iron Monkey Fist of Legend Once Upon a Time in China (2, especially) Hero Flash Point (Dou fo sin) SPL Killzone (Saat po long) Seven Swords (ok, I'll stop listing all of Donnie Yen's movies... just watch anything you can find with him in it) Drunken Master 2 Gorgeous (this movie fucking sucks, but it's worth a rental just to watch the Jackie Chan/Brad Allan fights) Azumi (do not watch the sequel under any circumstances) Lady Snowblood The Princess Blade (an excellent remake of Lady Snowblood) The Street Fighter (and pretty much anything else with Sonny Chiba if you like 70's-style ultraviolent kung fu flicks... and get the unrated versions) Last edited by Vorph : 07-03-2008 at 07:31 PM. |
